The AOBR boxed set would give you another 5 termies, 10 tactical marines and the dreadnaught. You could trade the orks for more marine stuff. You could also consider a razorback for some transport and heavy support.

Yeah, AoBR is really great. In addition to more models, you also get a rulebook and templates, things you need as a new player.

If you don't want to buy the whole AoBR box, check out ebay. There are a ton of people who cut up the boxes and sell individual parts if you don't want all the orks to deal with. You can also buy the templates and mini rule book for super cheap on ebay.
Just a suggestion if you don't want the extra termies and have to deal with orks.

big thanks to all who have replied so far, I'm starting to scour the ebay pages as we speak, seems there's HEAPS of good stuff on there.
Please keep your suggestions coming for a good 750-100pnt lists that are more inclined to ranged attack, any and all help i can get at this stage is most welcome!

+1
You also could look into a Vindicator. They are popular 'stay the heck away from me' choices, though limited in there range.

Well, I'd go for the following:
captain - 100
10 termies w/ cyclone x2 - 460
2x 10 tac marines - 340
2 attack bikes w/ multimeltas - 100
total: 1000 pts.

Well, I've come up with a tentative 750pt list, see how it looks, and if I've made any mistakes with the points, polease feel free to yell at me
ok, here we go,
Captain w/ storm bolter and Power fist- 128
2x tac squads, each with the free rocketlauncher and flamer upgrades- 360
Predator tank w/ twin linked las cannon- 105
Dreadnaught w/ twin auto cannon and drop pod- 150
gives me a total of 743 I think. i reckon its got good potential for ass kickery, please feel free to add/ critique etc.
Cheers all!

Don't take PFs on HQs, wastes I5.
2 Tac squads is 340.
Dread should have MM, autocannon is not great.
Pred should be pure dakka (autocannon+2 HBs) or dropped.
