Raising the bolter to his eyes, Theos sighted the cultists picking through the bodies. The majority of the squad was clustered around the Leman Russ. A paticularily large cultist was directing two others into the tank itself.
Priority target Theos thought to himself. His finger hovered over the trigger. Suddenly, he shifted his bolter to the left. A cultist had come from behind the Leman Russ carrying a thin long tube above his head with both arms, making excited guttural cries.
Heavy weapon, new priority
Then Theos saw the large cultist take a few steps away from the tank. It reached down and struggled with something on the ground for a few seconds. It emerged with what looked like a thick, black glove, larger than its misshapen head. For a second Theos hesitated.
The decision was made for him.
With a groan, the Leman Russ lurched forward, dragging the heavy chasis of the Dreadnought with it. Then it exploded. Theos turned his eyes away briefly to avoid the bright glare. The cultist squad had been knocked to the ground, joining hundreds of its kind who lay dead, littered across the battlefield. The Dreadnought had been blown back, power fist severed. A few started to rise shakily, including the large cultist. This time, Theos did not hesitate.
Blam
BlamBlam
Silence.
Inside his helmet, Theos let out a small grin.

Trooper Arem was awakened from his spontaneous nap by the loud voice of Deret aruging with Luic.
"I'm just saying, we'd have a warping better time dealing with enemy armour if we had some damn autocannons lying around."
"Right. You go up against one of those Landraiders with your precious autocannon, then we'll talk." Luic replied cradling the squad's missile launcher.
"That metal tube wouldn't have a shikking chance..."
"Don't drag Chara into this. This baby has five kills to her name."
"You named ..."
Sergeant Malik stooped into the bunker.
"Noise discipline, second squad."
"Ah, what's the point, Sarge, it's not like they're going to miss us anyways."
Arem thought Deret had a point. Three concrete bunkers in a clearing weren't his exact idea of concealment, even if the whole point of Navoc's outer defense ring was to drive the enemy into bottle necks. Luckily for them, the cultist forces had not yet devised a plan of breaking through the heavy Kao woods with their armour.
"Just shut it, Deret."
"Enemy armour!" Trooper Pate hissed without turning his head from the firing slit.
"Firing positions, second squad!" Malik called out.
Inside the bunker, the members of second squad rose to their feet and lined across the firing slit. As they were still moving, Pate called out, "Two hundred metres!"
Luic and Kane were the first to reach the firing slit.
"Kane, load him. Trooper Luic, fire that missile launcher!"
