I am sick to death of my Raptors falling over because they are floating unbalanced over their 25mm base. I've got some 30mm steel washers I'm thinking about glueing to the bottom of the Raptors 25mm slotta base. I will still use the 25mm base for measuring range, coherency and movement as the washer is only there for balance. I will also notify my opponent at the beginning of the game what the washers are for and how I will be measuring.

Do you see any inherent problems with this?

Thanks,
Jim

You shouldn't have a problem. I have one annoying plaguebearer with icon which I ended up glueing to a second base with a nickle glued inside it. The one time it came up, the conversation when like this:
Other guy: "Why's that one on two bases?"
I: "It's top heavy."
Other guy: "Oh, okay. Anyway, I'm done setting up so ..."

Have you tried something like the Gale Force 9 magnetic slotta bases to see if those would be heavy enough?

Yakface did something when we made our tau army that I thought was sheer genius:

He glued buckshot into the bases of our models.

Thanks for the comments. I have already weighted the a few of the bases with cut down lead fishing sinkers. The problem at least to me really seems to be the base size with the odd center of gravity with the raptor models.

Just feel i have to point out you can base your models however you like. There are no rules for basing models, other than "Get permission from your opponent" which is kind of redundant since the ENTIRE GAME is opponents permission only (see my sig for details)

00 is quite large. I foresee heavy usage of clippers.
