Hey!

This is my first post here, so I want to say "hello!" to all awesome DakkaDakka crew first!

But onto the topic:

I am with DEldar since they very begining at times of 40 3rd Ed. Previously I played 40K 2nd with IG and CSM. I also play WFB DE since 4th ed up to now.

I had rather big break from the hobby due to real life demandings, but recently I came back when my situation stabilized a bit.

Anyway with lumbering rumours of new DE Codex sometime in the foresible future I decided to try a new concept for my DEldar (I have really huge army, I mean huge - although mostly unpainted). My Old DE were all Dark Purple (Imperial Purple anyone?), now I want to experiment with more pirate like, irregular view. I plan a lot conversions and to use mostly natural, subdued military colors with a bit DE side. Hmmm, I got also few IG ideas and some test minis waiting...

Here's my first concept DEldar Pirate. Base is resin one (better cost/effect factor), unfinished - I will do all bases when whole squad will be finished.

Feedback, comments, critique, ideas?

That's cool! That's kind of how the Dark Eldar should have looked like! Rather than the parody of themselves that they are at the moment!

Great concept. It's a shame the corsair backs are attached to the cloaks, as some variation is always good for pirates. But I suppose you could use dark eldar torsos for that.

Overall very good, loving the goggles...... and the pose - looks pretty intimidating!

I agree, that looks more like what the Dark Eldar should have looked like.

I would have gone with a darker scheme for the armor, to contrast with the bright goggles, and because DE are portrayed as a little more "dark". However, it's nice to see a bit of change from black, dark purple, dark blue, dark green, dark red, dark yellow, dark orange, and everything dark.

Wah! I like dis beef too much!

That is what haunts the nightmares of my Guardsmen in transit from planet to planet, not those over-spiked space-elf goons that somehow maintain their existence as models. Now excuse me I must change my pants.

Orks are like those neighbor children who aren't invited to your parties and they come right in anyway.
