I'm about to start work on one using a Manufactorum as it's basis. I'm planning on doing it two panels wide around the front and sides and three panels tall. I'll use the various pipes and chimneys as the guns, sticking them through the "open" panels which will be on the front. I plan to leave the back open so you can see at least some of the models being transported and to look generally cool. I have plenty of Nurglings and tons of Chaos vehicle bitz lying around to make add Nurglyness. I need some inspiration for the wheels (I considered making it to slip over a Rhino or LR for the sake of ease). I also wanted any ideas for making the 10 fire points it has (I was thinking just little holes, but wanted something cooler. Also for the color scheme I'm considering priming it grey, going over with a lighter grey and then adding some slimey green spills all over it. Any other ideas from anyone?

Well, first of all, it would be nice if you changed the threat's title to something like "planning to build a pleaguetower" or "need ideas for building a pleague tower". If you keep it like this, people will click on the topic expecting to see a pleague tower and just be dissapointed, once they see that there aren't any pics. It's like those annoying threats in the news section without any question marks.

On topic: Using the manofactorum as base sounds like a good idea, I might steal that idea when I build one for me : But you'll have to consider that they are rather thick, so it might be difficult to add the main cannons.

I have no idea what you could use as wheels, but if you use the manofoctorum, the wheels probably should look a bit more impressive too. You might wanna take a look into your local toystore, maybe some sort of tank as base, or monstertruck wheels.

There are four panels included which have holes in the center just right for the smoke stacks which already look like cannons to go through. I might start a WIP thread tomorrow if I get around to taking pictures to show you what I mean. I might look at what Ork things have wheels, as I'm unfamiliar with Orkiness in general.

I'm not sure if the smoke stack holes are big enough. As far as I know, the pleaguetower has 2 Demolisher cannons in it's front, so you need to think BIGGER!

Not bad. Certainly looks tower-ish enough.
Still needs bigger cannons though.
Any plan on building the pleague mortar yet?

Oh, and might also consider doing something about those mechanicus symbols.

Does it have an open back now? And how many Manofactorum boxes did you buy for that?

Yeah, that one set of panels is supposed to be backwards. Didn't notice til after I had built it. That's 2 boxes with a few extra bits thrown in and a few left out. The mortar is the havoc launcher on the pipe on the side-top.

ive just bilt a plage tower my self, couldnt quite work out how to meke some good wheels, so i decided not to, insted ive mounted it on a giant slug, sounds od but looks quite cool
