I have about 2,000-2,500pts of Orks, including 80+ Shoota Boyz, 3 Kans, 15 Kommandos (made from Sluggas with a custom Snikrot), 7 Nob Bikers, 20-ish Slugga Boyz, ~12 Big Shoota Orks, Nobz w/ PKs for my mobs, 3 Deffkoptas, Big Mek w/ KFF, and a Warboss.

If this was all painted up nice, say a CMON rating of 7 or so (better than tabletop, basically), what should I charge for it? What would you pay or expect to see paid for it?

I really, really could use the collective help of Dakka on this, because I really want to shed myself of my Orks. I know pictures would be helpful, but I don't have a digital camera at my disposal at this moment in time (soon, I swear!). Just a rough estimate would be great!

Usually when buying I look to pay about this much (per model) and likely less as the numbers go up;
$3 infantry (shoota, slugga, big shoota)
$5-8 anything else you have listed

So roughly $350-$400; but I wouldn't even think about asking about it until I saw pics (that's a lot of money to throw out without some proof it exists and good references). Of course my (theoretical) offer would go up considerably depending on how the Orks look; how well they're painted and customised could greatly enhance the amount you could ask for them.

When selling a model it can usually be best to tally up the retail for it and automatically take a third from it (in general); that will likely be the best you'll get for it. Don't go selling off good stuff for pennies either!

You might also have luck with trading for another 2-2.5k army, or similar trade; any other army catching your fancy?

hope this helps a bit.

Well, I would love to get 2K worth of Eldar for it. I generally don't enjoy Orks as much as I thought I would. Hard to enjoy pushing around ~100 models each game.

I am a pretty decent painter, but I didn't mod them too much. You can take a gander at my gallery and see the Dread and get a general idea of the level I shoot for. The Warboss is my rough work, done in much haste just to have it on the table.

If the army looked roughly that good, what do you think?

i think that 3 dollars for infantry is INSANE
considering out of box is 2.20 per boy, and you get extra parts. Unless you buy from the AOBR then it is even cheaper.

I only meant as a general rule (e.g. I usually won't pay over $3 for ANY single infantry model); I'm well aware how cheap Orks can be.

If your Orks (all of them) are anywhere near the quality of the nurgly dred you have a lot of money on your hands, and I would highly suggest higher asking prices. In all honesty, if they are of that quality I would suggest purchasing/borrowing a digital camera and try Ebay; take good pics, make a good auction listing (plenty of extra pictures, descriptions, etc) and have a decent starting bid (slightly low of what you would really like for them (e.g. $500). Who knows. maybe you'll get it, and if no one bids, what's another couple of dollars dumped into such a huge, time/money-consuming army?

But yeah, after seeing the dred, you really need to get some pics...
