Subject: Question About a regular team of Crisis suits

Hey guys, just want a clarification.
I understand that a team of crisis suits can be given 3 hard points. Now Due to the fact they are jsut crisis suits and unable to bring "Hard-wired" equipment. So the most plausible thing to do is bring 2 weapons + 1 Support system.
There's this guy i was up against who said that, he didnt need the multi tracker (allowing battle suits to shoot 2 battle suit weapons) because that's just how battle suits are. Hence, he got the +1 BS to their profile support system.
So he had:
Plasma Gun
Missile Pod
Targetting Array (+1 BS)
The problem is, he'd move and shoot both weapons, but i thought you needed a multi tracker for that and it wasnt present, all he said was the battle suits can shoot 2 weapons thus making the multi tracker useless. Because to my understanding you have 2 choices, 2 weapons at BS 3 or 1 weapon at BS 4, assuming you take 2 weapons and only one support system.
am i getting something wrong here or m i being cheated?

So long he's firing on the same unit, he can fire both his weapons. If he has a multi-tracker, he can split his fire to 2 different units.
Quick note also here. There is no targeting array in the crisis suit's box set (It only comes with a hammerhead)

Yeah, so even without the multi tracker can he still shoot 2 weapons? Because reading the Multi Tracker entry it says, "It enables the model to fire 2 battlesuit weapons in the same turn."
So i'm assuming without it, they can only fire one weapon?

This is totally incorrect. Battlesuits follow all the normal shooting rules until you are told otherwhise, and the default given on page 15 of the BRB is that models may only fire a single weapon per shooting phase. The only way to fire more than one weapon per shooting phase is with a multi-tracker and that allows the suit to fire up to two weapons at a single enemy unit, not 3 weapons, and not split fire (which you need a target lock for)

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Some people think that the "relentless" rule that jet pack infantry has allows you to fire multiple weapons, but this is false.
It simply allows the model to fire heavy and or rapid fire weapons on the move as though they are stationary, this does not allow a non-vehicle model to fire more than one weapon whether they are moving or not.

Huh, good question Enmitee! I had always assumed suits could fire two weapons standard since I have never played against them where they didn't. I guess the multitracker just always is used. I will have to look that up next time I am in range of a codex!

Without the upgrade, suits fire just like any other infantry. IE one weapon, that's the [reason they have gear to allow them to fire two. Movement doesn't effect it either way BTW.

yeah i assumed as well, well my opponent did. I guess they have a choice between BS 3 2 weapons or BS 4 one weapon.

Yeah he can't do that, at least not with standards shas'ui suits. To fire 2 weapons at the same time you must take a multi-tracker and doing this leaves you with no space left for a targeting array to improve the aim. If you take the targeting array to improve the aim, you can only fire 1 weapon at a time. However, all the other crisis suits (commanders, team leaders and all shas'vre) can take wargear so they CAN do this by taking 2 weapons, a targeting array for accuracy and a hard-wired multi-tracker that doesn't use up a hardpoint spot.
Also, you probably know this but just to clarify something... You mention that suits CAN take 3 hardpoints and this is true but it isn't an option. You MUST fill all 3 hardpoints.

I get what you mean, i was just talking about people who spam the normal crisis suits in an army.

I imagine your opponent noticed that Terminators with Storm Bolters and Cyclone Missile Launchers got to fire them both, and imagined it was a universal thing rather than a special rule for Terminators.

Yep sounds like your opponent either didn't know the rules or just cheated you.
One model in the unit can be the team leader for +5 points which allows him to take hard-wired gear, which does allow him to get both the '+1BS' and 'fire two weapons' upgrades, but certainly not the rest of the models in the unit.
