I would cause glade guard go squish!!?? So how you gonna work the trap??

Who knows. I just wanted to see pretty banners.

I figure the Wood Elves move quickly enough that they'll want to charge to take banners
away from me but I won't necessarily be in ideal positions to take them.

Your use of the word "festooned" lured me into this thread.

I like the idea. Banners look awesome in general, and it can present you with new tactical opportunities and challenges. Added combat potential, along with juicy bait for your enemies. Any tactic like this that adds opportunity and also risk is likely to improve your game. Good luck with it!

It ended badly, but I was unaccustomed to a 6' table. Coupled with 3k points, I could not really
stretch the battle line as much as I'm used to.

Also, one of my banners fled the table when the first banner unit of glade guard was wiped out,
and I never got the banner of Saemrath in place because there were sight lines all over the
place and I had to deploy my scouts in my regular deployment area.

I also tried to break a Stubborn unit of Greatswords. Yeah, I know. I should know better.

Keep at it. Challenging lists like this take some getting used to, and that's probably an understatement. Play and tweak, play and tweak.

Well, I'm thinking that the Banner of Saemrath is a "toy" banner, and only to be used
once you've filled your requirements. You can't count on it in a tournament environment, and
you especially can't count on it in a 4x6 play area with 3k points on either side.

However, I do enjoy having standards in my archer units, so I'll at least have three in my army.

Do you think that would be too much?
