as the subject says, i just finished reading through manslayer, the 9th gotrek and felix book, and while it was a good little time kill, it left me wondering some things.

All through the book, everyone they ran into commented on how felix hadn't aged a day. I find myself wondering, is it some of overflow from traveling with gotrek and his ax of supreme killyness, is it some effect from his dragon slaying sword, or perhaps some side effect from something that happened in a previous book.

I find myself leaning towards perhaps the ax perhaps being the cause, connecting him in a way to gotreks doom so that he won't be limited to a human lifespan, but then again, lots of crazy things have happened in the books, so who knows.

what do you all think?

It just is a plot device so they could get away from the much better King books. We will put it 20 years in the future and say his "magically" kept young. The closest thing I could draw from it is Giant Slayer that either Gotrek's axe or the path of the Old Ones did something to him.

They are on nine which should mean Omnibus 3 is on the way. :-)

in the old fluff for the characters they both hold a place in the plans of he gods.
gotreks axe has been slowly changing him for decades.
in elf slayer they devle a bit deeper into the cause, but not much.

if i recall correctly in an interview with nathan he said that he would have it all explained by the time gotrek is killed. (which will happen)

Aw, I didn't realize that he stayed young. I was hoping Felix was running around with a little bit of a gut and a comb-over. I'd like to imagine *that* Felix "bleeding from countless small cuts" again and again.

Oh, well maybe I'll have to check it out. I think I ran out of steam after Daemonslayer, though I did enjoy that lost hold piece.
