Errrm, it depends on each independent model's unit strength..... I.E. Ogres have 3 wounds each. they are also unit strength 3. Most cavalry is Unit Strength 2 as well. you simply add up each individual model's unit strength with that of the whole unit's US. it has nothing to do with wounds and unit strength does not depend on the wounds of said model

Yup, 3 ogres = US 9....most cav is 2, ogre sized things are 3 and monsters use their wounds unless specified.

bat said it pretty well.
easy to look at it base size most of the time
standard = 1
cav base = 2
small monster = 3 (usually)
anything larger = wounds
not 100% as there are some exceptions to this, but in general its pretty accurate.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor. |

Malfred, the BRB has a table in it that identifies the US for every type of model in the game. I would take a peek at that as it will come in handy.

What about scoring? Do 3 Treekin with 5 wounds count as a unit taken under half?

Incorporating Wet-Blending

Nope, it uses starting models. So 3 treekin would need to take 6 wounds to be reduced below 1/2 starting strength.

That is correct. Units = Models, Monster's and Characters = Wounds. Also with units its below half the number of starting models, and for characters and monsters its to half wounds. And important distinction to make.

When a character is in the unit, how do you calculate Unit Strength?
I know I've been playing for a bit, but mostly against the same two or three
opponents so I don't really know these things.
And yes, I'm trying to rtfm, but the font is so tiny!

When a character is in the unit, how do you calculate Unit Strength?
Add the two to get the total us for a unit
10 goblins with a boss on a boar = 12 US (10 for goblins, 2 for boss)
for us
20/25 mm bases = 1
cav base = 2
40 mm base = 3
flying unit = 1
flying cav (as stated in unit description such as peg knights) = 2
monsters = wounds
chariots = 4
ridden monsters/chariots = US of mount + 1

As cypher said you just ad his unit strength to the total unit strength of the unit.
