This is one of those moments where you don't know whther to laugh or cry.

In all fairness, Ahtman's post in the other thread, while inflammatory, was a pretty reasonable analogy to the opinions MDG had been posting.

There's no excuse for being rude or insulting, but there comes a point where a poster is exhibiting such extreme close mindedness and/or ignorance that it borders, on it's own, as rude and insulting to the people in a thread that are trying to discuss a topic openly. Everybody entrenches from time to time, but some do it more so than others. I'm really not sure that calling a person out for having close minded, ignorant or poorly though out beliefs when it appears to be true is necessarily rude, I think it's a necessary element when dealing with posts that are based primarily on "gut feelings" rather than anything more rational.
