Hi,
I've been playing for about 3 months now. My hobby started with a friend and me each buying an AoBR set and splitting it (him getting my SM models and me getting his Orks) and since then we've both gone on to spend way too much money. In my haste to assemble my models, I took a few shortcuts, made a few mistakes, but one thing is really nagging at me:
I bought a few boxes of Nobz. If you have seen the contents of the 5-man box of Nobz, you probably already know where I'm going with this. For those not familiar with this product: every Nob torso in the box has a small hole on his back, and the box comes with a bunch of bosspoles. There are other options (a holstered gun comes to mind) but no way to fill all 5 holes aside from sticking tons of bosspoles on or filling the holes with green stuff.
Basically, the end result of this is that in my 10 man Nobz squad, I currently have way more bosspoles than I want. Is it acceptable to most players to only count one model as having a bosspole, and pretend the rest aren't there? FWIW I do plan on cutting off the extra ones once I start figuring out an army list I like, but I'd like to know if most stores/tournaments/etc. would let this slide in the mean time. My friends don't mind, but I figure some people might.

There is no problem, even at a trourney (disclaimer, and TO can decide to have a problem, but I don't see it.)
You just need to be sure that the one with the bosspole is obviously different than the others. The others are just.... decoration...

I'd fill the holes with GS to avoid confusion.

Orks have had poles on their backs for 25 years. I've got whole squads of old models that all came with "back banners". Just make the bosspole very large and obvious. Inform your opponent if you think it's a problem.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Horrific Hive Tyrant
London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

i would have no problem with it in either a friendly game or tourney, but theres allways TFG.
best off either using GS to fill them in (5 mins work max)
or, use random things to cover them ie; choppas, slugga, random armour plates.
