I am totally new to gaming that doesn't involve a tv, and just got started on monday with an AoBR kit, and some paints. Three days in and I have totally got the bug. I have some pics up of my finished models in the modeling/painting section. Any Texas gamers hit me up, I hardly know anyone who is into the hobby. Once I am confident enough in my painting skills I am planing on building either space wolves, csm, or inquisition.

Welcome to the real world, where you can hold a tangible item in your hand that isn't a 360 controller. 
You'll find 40K a much more rewarding hobby in that everything springs from your own hands and mind. You'll get much more out of it for a comparable amount of time than a video game, and when that time is spent you'll have a cool looking army you can play with again instead of a lost evening and a pissed off girlfriend.

Welcome aboard. Please visit your local GW hobby store. They should have game tables and probably display cases so you can tell how well your paint job stands up. I do not bother our local painting contest as honestly I do not have the time or patience.
