Lets have a go at posting lists that we use now and finding out how they look after the new rules are revealed in April. Then we can see if they're still fieldable and how they've changed.

I’ll start:

4 star Syndicate: Fiona the Black (497/500 points)

Fiona the Black
Mariner
Alexia Ciannor
Ogrun Bokur
Rupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord
Croe’s Cutthroats (8)
Lady Aiyana & Master Holt
Steelhead Halberdiers (8)

Cryx: Iron Lich Asphixious (499/500 points)

Iron Lich Asphixious
Cankerworm
Defiler
Defiler
Bane Lord Tartarus
Gorman di Wolfe, Rogue Alchemist
Pistol Wraith
Pistol Wraith
Bane Knights (6)
Bile Thralls (7)

Reminder: To make this experiment work the lists should be viable lists that you actually use or used and do not have to be 500 point lists.

To be honest, I only use him a few times before switching over to my Circle for the Metamorphosis releases. I never really developed a feel for using him other than he did marshall a Destroyer pretty well.

That's mostly what I got him for anyway; I wanted a marshal in a Iron Rain army that was less squishy than Mekaniks (though I like them too).

The Koldun lord is a very good Jack Marshal for Destroyers. I ran him with my eVlad list at a recent regional Tourney in Souther CA. He is even more effective with say pVlad who can add S&P to the accuracy. Also he gives a passive called Cold Iron giving the warjack effectively wraith bane and the ability to charge incorporeal models.

It is an expensive combination in MKI but he can run two destroyers as well as 1. With a RAT boost and a cost decrease that could become a real killer combination.

I have used the battle wizard a little bit, although I want to make more use of that in future games.

If they were cheap enough I would also like to try the Koldun Lord with 2 Berzerkers as he should marshall them very well too. They charge for free, he can give them boosted to hit on all initial attacks and boost the second axe attack damage with his Jack Marshal boosts. Again a point cost reduction and MAT increase along with all models can charge on rough terrain should make this a more powerful combo.

As for list, here is a typicaly Khador list, lets try this

pVlad
Koldun
- Destroyer

IFP Uhlans (4)

rule. And Field Promotion is yes.

At 500 points, my old Darius list was (roughly) (and pre-Superiority):

Darius
Centurion
Ironclad
Lancer
GMCA
Reinholt
Swordknights

If I take that now, it's only 30 points out of 55 (50+5 for WJ allowance). And with the changes to the GMCA (getting a magic attack) and Darius' spell list, I'd drop the Lancer. With Full Throttle losing the extra d6 for melee attacks, I'd probably go with:

Centurion
Defender
Ol' Rowdy
Squire
Arlan Strangeways
GMCA
Trencher
Swordknights

Which is still only 45 points out of 55. Wow.

With the overall decrease in points, the "free "+"" nature of casters, I think all of my armies would see an increase model count....which is offset by the maddening "square peg or round peg" choices I have to use in either taking full squads or minimum squads.

Ok, so these lists become this:

eKreoss
Blessings of Vengeance [7-6=1]
10 Knights Exemplar 8
10 Knights Exemplar 8
Seneschal 3
Seneschal 3
Vengers 7
Gravus 5
Rhoven 5
Paladin 2
Wracks 1
Rupert 2
Gorman 2
Heirophant 2

49 points. And to be honest, in this new setup I will NOT take vengers or Rhoven. Vengers with 5 boxes aren't worth it I don't think and Rhoven got hit hard with the nerfbat. I'd probably replace them with Errants and more jacks

Reznik
Heirophant 2
Redeemer [6-6=0]
Devout 5
Revenger 6
Blessing of Vengeance 7
Castigator 8
Choir 3
Choir 3
Vassal 2

36 points. I'd probably add a second Vassal and Wracks

My Harbinger list changes immensely, since she can now use arc nodes. The Hail Mary was nerfed though, as even though she's knocked down she has to forfeit movement or action.

On the whole, I'm dissatisfied with what happened to the protectorate. Kreoss and eKreoss were sidegraded, Harbinger sidegraded, Reznik was nerfed hard, Gravus got a sidegrade, Paladins an upgrade, Jacks more MAT, Avatar a sidegrade, Fire of Salvation an upgrade.

But Blessings of Vengeance, Devout, Rhoven, Vengers, and Exemplar got hit HARD. Exemplar not hit as bad as the others, but those 4 units were seriously screwed with this.

Not sure how I feel about the choir. They're going to be in the thick of the fighting now, right up with their jacks, but now the leader doesn't matter.
