Whilst working on a second dread from the AoBR set, I decided I didn't want two identical "Bricks" on the field. Not having any Dread bits to play with I was a little stumped, until I remembered the weaponry left over from a Predator I'd recently built.

A dab of glue, a little dressing with a Termie Storm Shield and the targeter mount from a Hunter Killer Missile, and I had a quick & dirty TL Lascannon.

It's still WIP, but I thought I'd slap it up here so you nuts could critique ( besides, it's been a while since I put anything up !)

And finally, with the normal pattern dread for comparison.

Like I said, it's still a WIP ( mould lines, details, washes etc) but feel free to comment, ridicule etc.

I could say: It looks too big in comparison to the close combat arm, I could say: the top lascannon barrel is the wrong way round. But I won't 'cos I think it looks absolutely brilliant. Great use of bits, seriously good conversion, man!

I like it. But I would say my fav part is the way you have the barrels turned

good on you for doing something original and creative, but it does look out of proportion from the close combat arm and i also dislike the upper coil its too much on for me, but as you said its still WIP so keep up the good work

Thanks for the comments, guys.

The mirrored barrels is, in fact, just down to laziness ( I glued the weapons "top-to-top" just to make life easier ) but having said that, the tapered effect does look good to me.

The bulk is something I wasn't sure about to start with, but looking at the normal TL Las mount, it seemed a little weedy for something packing that much punch, so I was happy enough with the implied wieght of the mount I ended up with.

The top coil. Hmm, looking at it since reading that, I suppose I could do something about it, it DOES look a little too symetrical.

Thanks again guys, some positive comments, and some things to work on. Just what I like about dakka members.
