Have there ever been Infinity miniatures that really did get discontinued altogether?
I ask because today at the store I saw a blister pack containing two Shaolin Monks, and the one I could see had a different sculpt (a high kick pose) from the ones in the boxed set.
There was also a blister with only one Karakuri in it.

Note: more factions will get this repackages, when it happens, the blisters will be discontinued again in 3 months.
Note 2: the kitty/furry Daktari won't be discontinued.
One question, who is this Trasimedes dude that you guys link to the HRL mini?
Not too well up on my greek mythology atm but ,considering we already have Achilles, he is probably another Greek hero from the Illiad (Homers account of the seige of Troy). Whom Aleph has recreated to lead the greek themed sectorial force.

Trasimedes does not come up in any of the Greek mythos I can find.
There is one reference which I could find for Trasimedes, which is of "Oristeo"--an Italian opera, where Trasimedes is the "Prince of Archaea".
Now, in the Trojan War there was a "Thrasymedes".
Here's the Wikipedia entry on "Thrasymedes":
Thrasymedes was one of the more prominent younger leaders portrayed in the Iliad, though not to the extent of his brother. He fought bravely throughout the entire war. In the Iliad he was one of the lead sentries and was present at night when the Greek wall was built. When Diomedes and Odysseus went on a spying expedition he gave the former his armour and sword before they left. When his brother was killed by Memnon he helped his father fight for possession of the dead body, but due to Memnon's superior strength they were forced to withdraw and enlist the help of Achilleus. Once he whipped Odysseus, mistaking him for a beggar after the latter stole the Luck of Troy. He was also one of the Danaans to enter the Trojan Horse.
Thrasymedes survived the war and returned home with his father, presumably inheriting his kingdom when his father died.

FETH YEAH!
Now that I read myself again, I meant the logo in their box, red circle with white star, not the unit logo LOL. Just in case...
I honestly don't care, I've been rubbing this in Kan's face all morning
Speaking of, Kan.... Kaplan is probably going to be the "main" Merc force, as they are presumably Aleph Backed (because they have Aleph guns), and are coming out with the "Merc Book" more than likely.
Which also means all of these Spec Ops models are substandard to the Merc one that's going to come out I'm only joking, no bad Karma please

Doubtful that Kaplan would be the "main" Merc force simply because they have ALEPH guns.
Druze have ALEPH-styled weaponry as well, it likely just means it is the "best that can be afforded".

And the comic strip where Trasimedes is related with a missile launcher
Oooooh all right, I had read this comic strip (I've read the whole thread in the Spanish forum) but I didn't remember the "secondary" characters LOL. Achilles's face is unforgetable Thanks!!

I wouldn't be able to make a list, but basically all the minis that have been resculpted. I think that when a mini has been resculpted the older version has been automatically discontinued. But I'm talking about minis with the exact same gear loadout. You can still see the old Kazak Doctor and the old Line Kazak Panzerfaust with the newer Line Kazak from the Ariadna starter, for example.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok, I'm stealing some more info from the Spanish forum on the GenCon news:
Scarface and Cordelia are sold out! They've already sold the 100 copies they brought to GenCon.
And the stand:

Yu Jing has a destiny to fulfill: to be the major power of the Sphere and to lead Humanity in its quest for progress. This is their manifest destiny, for no one is better suited to the task than Yu Jing. Asia has always been a continent of great civilizations and immense empires. The purpose of the Yǎnjīng (The Eyes), the Yu Jing Military Intelligence Service, is none other than to ensure the necessary conditions are met for this destiny to be fulfilled. To do that, they have the Guǐ Fēng special operatives, the Phantom Wind that sweeps the Sphere, unnoticed and unnoticeable. The Guǐ Fēng undertake covert operations and generally take care of the dirty work the StateEmpire cannot handle openly through the use of regular forces or diplomacy. Guǐ Fēng are not registered; none of them appear in the official records. They operate outside the public field of vision, their scope is the whole of the Sphere, and they have a license to use any means in the exercise of their duty. The embodiment of discretion and stealth, the Guǐ Fēng honor their name and carry themselves like a spectral wind: always undetected, barely noticed, cold, and lethal.
“Ad Utrumque” (Ready for everything). Motto of the PanOceanian Special Operations Command.
Blue is the color of PanOceania. It is the color assigned on modern strategic maps to the allied forces, the color of the good guys. Clear, bright, it is the optimistic color of the nation that leads the Human Sphere, the color of the uniforms of its soldiers, champions of Freedom and Democracy. But when PanOceania has to work in the shadows, the brightest color is not the best. Sometimes they need a darker, more discreet hue. That is when indigo goes into action: the color of the all-concealing abyssal depths, the color of the all-destroying tempestuous ocean. As a result, when PanOceanian troops earn enough merit to join the Special Operations Command, they shed their original colors and become Indigo Spec-Ops, the dark side of PanOceania.
The Vortex are the Black Hand’s main “agents provocateur”, specialists in undercover and secret operations. Rigorously recruited, they are not called “special operatives” for nothing. Their operating profile requires exceptional abilities for combat and for the collection of intelligence. In exchange, the Black Hand gives them freedom to act according to their own judgment, and evaluates them only on the basis of objectives met. And Vortex meets them, because they are professionals. These guys can have a run at anyone; they can eliminate any other operative from the Sphere or beyond it. They are top-notch hitmen. They have done plenty of “jobs”, but always with a low profile, operating under the radar. The Vortex are destabilizing agents with a wild vibe. If they show up, you’d better be ready for action. They are old school spies from a dirtier, more expedient era. They are intimately acquainted with danger, vertigo and action. Vortex live in the tough side of chaos, where no one is in charge and anything can happen. That’s the way they like it, because when your bread and butter is outrunning ALEPH, you end up with a liking for the high-speed jobs.
As is usual among the Morat, their military terminology often leads to confusion, as it always has a different meaning than the human equivalent. In the Morat race everything is always more violent and outright. When one says Treitaks are intelligence operatives, we should not think of them as conventional spies. Treitaks care little about espionage. They can execute espionage missions, of course, but that is not what they have been created or trained for. They are Morat troops and elite troops as well. They are not intelligence agents like ours. They are assassins, trained killers. They have been trained to enter a hostile area and kill everyone in sight. They take no prisoners. They make no questions. They just kill.
So you’ve been tasked with solving the Penelope-7 thing? Well, good luck, boy. It’s been a pleasure meeting you… I just hope you didn’t make plans for the future, because you have no idea what you’re up against. The incident on that orbital platform was a Husam operative thing. And it’s obvious you don’t know what that entails… Point one: You have to go get them, which is a challenge in itself. The Husam are Hassassin, or have been trained by Hassassin instructors. They are always ready, always covered and always lethal. Point two: To be able to get close, you’ll need to find out about the Penelope-7 incident, but nobody is talking about Penelope-7, because it’s a real mess. The Husam showed up as military consultants and ended up fighting for the rebel side. They did it undercover, incognito style, ‘cause otherwise it would have been a full-blown diplomatic scandal. So everything about Penelope-7 is classified now. Point three: You are supposed to get recorded confessions to use against the Haqqislamite government. But the Husam have been trained to resist torture and enhanced interrogation; that’s, like, Hassassin 101. Even if you manage to capture one of them alive, he’s not saying jack gak. Plus, if they have a Cube it’ll be just as protected as ours, so forget about getting your info from them. Point four: Husam means “sword” in Arabic, and these guys are as deadly as the name they wear. The Husam are supposed to be among the best special operation forces working intelligence. They make our Hexas look like sweet little princesses. And your plan is to capture several of them alive, interrogate them and then kill them making it “look like an accident”… Son, you were one of my best students, but you’re not nearly that good.
Sergeant-instructor Robert Pelletier. “The Camp”, Hexahedron Instruction Center. PanOceanian Intelligence Service. Location classified.
“Omnia Audax” (Audacious in everything) Motto of the operatives from the Stavka’s Intelligence Department.
In times before the re-contact with the Sphere, the Stavka did not need an Intelligence Department. The only external enemy was the Antipodes, and the Ariadnan Joint Command managed all information gained about these creatures from patrols and exploratory missions. In addition, each of the four nations forming Ariadna had its own agency; in the multi-regional power game of Ariadna, the main task of these departments was to spy on their neighbors. But with the arrival of the powers of the Sphere in the Dawn system, the situation changed radically. The Commercial Conflicts proved the need for an agency under direct command of the Stavka. The external enemies had multiplied and any one of them was more powerful and had better resources than Ariadna dared imagine. That is the reason why the Intelligence Department of the Stavka started to recruit all the promising operatives found amongst the Ariadnan forces, no matter their nation of origin, as the enemy was a common one. When a soldier proves his tactical capacity and talent for subterfuge, he is claimed by the Department, becoming an Intel, an Intelligence operative of a special type. Working in secret for the Ariadnan three-colored flag, Intels will do anything to protect their nation from any enemy. And on a planet that one big savage frontier, where quick and expeditious decisions are the ones that keep you alive, the expression “anything” acquires a special meaning.
Don’t go looking for records on Chandra operatives, because you won’t find any. The only references to these intelligence agents come from unconfirmed and unreliable Nomad sources. According to some Arachne-exclusive reports and stories, they are a clandestine unit of the Special Situations Section. The Chandra are not affiliated to any known Subsection, they manage their own finances and their activities are a secret. They answer only to ALEPH. Of course, all of this violates the Utgard Accords, the legal framework for the AI’s liberty of action. Their mere existence is a blatant breach of legality and has been repeatedly denied by ALEPH, Bureau Toth and specialists from PanOceania and Yu Jing. Nevertheless, Nomad sources claim that these Chandra, whose namesake is a Hindu lunar deity, are part of a secret initiative orchestrated by ALEPH to take care of those black operations that both S.S.S. Subsections are unable to undertake due to their notoriety. If Arachne is to be believed, the Chandra are an elite special force comprised only of outstanding troops, that work under the protection of ALEPH and defend its interests across the Sphere. They can act with impunity because the AI can erase any trace they might leave on the data sphere, as well as investigate and neutralize anyone who looks too deeply into them… Just like you are, right now…
Each of the entries is followed by the following caveat:
WARNING: Infinity Spec-Ops have no troop profile in the Army Lists, however they are the perfect proxies to be used in Infinity official tournaments of the ITS.
Infinity Spec-Ops have been created to be used by applying the Experience Rules of the Infinity Campaign System (ICS) you will find in the upcoming “Infinity. Campaign: Paradiso” book. Customize your trooper, improving it thanks to the experience acquired in the missions you play. A new and entertaining way to engage with Infinity. Don’t miss it!
So in summation...
These are just Corvus Belli's "take" on SpecOps and usable as proxies for normal units in Infinity as well.

So the Spec-Op starts out as, for example, a regular Paracommando or an S.A.S., and upon completing missions they gradually get better and better, right?
But the CA Spec-Op is a Morat, so how would you be able to start him out as a Shasvastii then?
I don't remember exactly in which one of the videos they talked about it.
