What happens when the High Elf plays High Elf. I understand which ever one of them get charge off gets the first attack. What happens after the first round of combat. Is it I or roll the die or who ever won the last round?
A little background here. My daughter is nine, only child and spoiled rotten. I am to blame for that. To make a long story short we have close to 5000 points of the little pointy ear fellows. My daughter has been playing Teclis, dragon mage, magic heavy and great shooting army. Both of use are suffering from moving and facing problems. Therefore she decide that she wanted a star dragon with a Prince who was a close combat guy. I want to run Korhil on a lion chariot with a white lion themed army. As we were playing each other this question came up. We need help.

Actually, it's been FAQ'd that in the case of ASF v ASF w/ same Initiative, that you roll it off - no other factors play a role. I'll dig up a link to the FAQ later, but it's on the High Elves FAQ on GW's site.

Its also in the BRB when it describes ASF. Jin is correct that it goes in initiative order and charging or any other factor does not play in here.

I know that when ASF is not a factor and other answers to the "who goes first?" question are unanswerable it goes by who won the last round. It took our play group a long time to spot that caveat after playing 40k and being used to the whole simultaneous attacks thing..

Man-Dude brings up a good point. Bear in mind that in WHFB, enemies NEVER strike simultaneously - someone ALWAYS goes first.
In the case of, say, Swordmasters vs. Swordmasters, you'd roll off for the first round of combat (both have ASF, and charging is ignored here). In subsequent rounds, whoever won the previous round will go first.

in Swordmasters vs. Swordmasters you would roll off every turn because the "who won the last combat?" rule was bypassed by ASF just like the "who Charged?" rule. ASF ALWAYS goes in descending initiative order rolling off for any ties.

Yeah, ASF is weird like that. They should have just said that ASF counters ASF and you go back to the normal sequence. But they didn't!
