By the time we get to the 3k list, I'm putting stuff in just for points. So the Waywatchers
and Shadow Sentinel are there for that reason, and I happen to have enough models to
field them as it is.

why are you putting standard in the glade guard and glade riders?

having trouble with points? hows a big fat treeman sound. good points sink i recon. extra units of wardancers and wild riders are also very good to sink some points.

and if all that fails massed small units of archers is very nice as well.

Yeah, I hate that model. No time to look for a replacement.

Standards: I just like how they like. I figure it gives someone an incentive to try and get to
my back lines rather than eliminate my fighting elements.

The LOTR range Ents make rather nice Treeman, as does a few twigs and some flock.

If I ever did Wood Elves, I'd be using Woldwardens as Treemen and Woldwatchers as Treekin. Megalith could be the Treeman Ancient.

Waaaaay better than the GW stuff for those models.

You don't want a Treeman Ancient though. Atleast not to a GT.

Why not? Isn't that one of the "cheap" WE builds, a Treeman Ancient with Annoyance of Netlings?

I'd say ditch the Standards. I know they look nice and occasionally they are helpful but I think in the long run they'll be more negative than positive and you can get an extra archer for each one.

I'll have to think about using a Treeman for next year. But seriously, I doubt I
will unless I find a model or conversion that I really want to paint.

About the extra archer. I'd consider it, except my trays are built for 10.

Yeah, work's kind of too busy for me to worry about it, hehe.

I might be able to swap out the Waywatchers for a third unit of Glade Guard. My current problem is
that Units of 10 clog up the table and sightlines to each other since the rest of the army is
skirmishers and whatnot. So if I have 3 units of ten, that's a 30 wide front that I'm not sure how to
position.

There's always the idea that I have room to stuff Dryads in front of them if I deploy
them back. Wood Elves absolutely help with the moving shooting type of army.

First of all the Treeman Ancient is useful only against blocks that can't hurt monsters, i.e units that noone uses these days. Secondly, he's useful against heroes that don't have re-rolls and/or flaming attacks, i.e heroes noone uses. Thirdly, the GT rules pack has two kill point missions where he's worth 3 KPs for being a rare slot and 2 KPs for being a lord.

Regardless, the most efficient way to play WE hero choices is a single level 4 lore of beasts wizard with 4 scrolls and the noble bsb with bane and hoda.
