OK, sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm not clear on this and i searched and checked the FAQ with no answer, so here goes. (I'm super new, haven't played a game yet)

I'm not clear on the weapon choices so far as the AOBR captain goes. The captain is posed with a boltgun and a power sword. The 5E codex seems to indicate that the boltgun is free wargear. However, this would mean he is using a two handed weapon with his left hand and the power sword in the other. Is this accurate/legal? How does a relic blade upgrade fit in?

yes, it is correct. You can use his sword as a relic blade too if you want, it certainly is big enough.

you could have 50 two handed weapons on the same model if they were given the option in any of the newer codices, in the past there were restrictions but the game is slowly moving away from them.

If your codex doesn't say anything about the number of weapons you can carry, there is no limit.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Holding weapons in one hand and using them effectively in one hand are different. The captian can happily hold the bolgun like that but in combat the bolter is too heavy to be used like a pistol and won't provide the same bonus that a one handed weapon would provide.

If hes shooting the bolter you can imagine that hes put the sword away instead of waving it around like a muppet all the time.

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough...

Codex: Space Marines addresses the weapon options a Captain has. Yes, he comes stock with a boltgun and boltpistol. You may exchange the bolt pistol for a power weapon/relic blade and the model would reflect that. I can't really see anyone arguing if you swapped the bolter for a stormbolter either (he is holding a really fancy bolter). Drill a hole in the bottom pin of the bolter (below the barrel) and you now have a modeled grenade launcher if you want that option.

As to weapon use, you may use 1 shooting weapon in the shooting phase (but see the GL option- it can fire in addition to another weapon). In the close combat phase, you may use 1 close combat weapon. Having an additional close combat weapon (or pistol) will add an additional attack, unless the selected weapon is a powerfist, thunderhammer, lightning claw, or similar "special" weapon (which require two of the same type to grant the additional attack). Two handed close combat weapons (such as the relic blade) do not allow the use of another weapon for the additional attack.

Make sense?
