I have noticed that the Chicagoland Games Workshop Battle Bunker has had a lot of free tournaments lately. The next 40K one is scheduled for:

Sunday, 3/29 at 11:00 am
1500 pts, regular Force Org. Probably no FW stuff will be allowed.
Call the Bunker to get signed up and get the exact details.
Armies don't have to be fully painted, but they encourage it and require WYSIWYG and army list copies.

Be prepared for anything - 1000 pts tournament had 'Ard Boyz missions and was played on 4x8 tables. 1250 pts tournaments were all deployed as Pitched Battles.

That said, I have had 99% good opponents and good games at these events and it's FREE OF CHARGE! Yea!

About 20 people showed up and I had 3 good games going 2/1/0 with Chaos Space Marines.

They were just 3 regular missions with normal deployment, but I like playing organized games and meeting new players in the area.
Next one is 2000 pts on 4/11, the weekend after AdeptiCon.
