Is there a 'go to' choice for Razorback weapons?

For the points, does one make the most sense, or is it really 'mission specific'?

Depends on what else is in the army. It is hard to beat the standard twin link heavy bolters for cost effectiveness though.

Its really army specific. Give your razorbacks weapons depending on what you need. If your army is packing meltas and lascannon all round then you probably need the heavy bolters. If youre full of horde killing firepower take the lascannon. If you are planning on taking a mech army them its probably a good idea to take a mixture, but again tailored to your armys needs. All the other options are far too over-priced to be worth considering for anything other than theme value (the lasannon-TL plasma gun will always have a special place in my heart, and a RB with TL-Ass.Cannon is just cool).

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Good rule of thumb when fielding razorbacks: Treat them as the heavy weapon for the undersized squad you've got stashed inside... Remember, it's not just a transport, it's another part of your squad.

Things I've gotten other players to admit...

I like to keep mine cheap with TL heavy bolters. TL lascannons are have the best range and can inflict instant death on most things, but TL assault cannons are better in most other respects. I do not believe that many take TL heavy flamers, as there is no model for it, and Immolators are better.

Lascannon / Twin-Linked Plasmagun is my favorite. Two separate weapons, so they are destroyed individually, and absolute doom to TEQs and light armor. I add a storm bolter to have extra shots on the move, since you have to choose the LC or the PG.

It's kind of like having one of the old-school Las/Plas squads following your combat squad around. Use a Plasmagun/Combi-Plasma CS inside for a 6" disembark with 6 Plasma shots, two of which are twin-linked.

Also, Razorbacks are always best in groups of 2+.

The principles described here by Regwon bears repeating: your Razorbacks should be armed to either complement, add redundancy to, or synergize with the rest of your army.

Taking Heavy Bolters when the rest of your army has anti-tank weapons is complementing your army.

You should also consider making the Razorback's armament a point of redundancy, since Razorback have no fire points.

Finally there's synergy, choosing a weapon that will enhance some other part of the army. The Heavy Flamethrowers provide good synergy to an army planning to tank shock the enemy, for example.

I'll second the coolness of arming Razorbacks with Twin-Linked Assault Cannons, particularly since GW now offers plastic Assault Cannons in the Redeemer/Crusader kit. I suspect that is why the option was added in the first place.

If only they put the assault cannons, heavy flamers, and TL plasma in the razor kit....

All the choices to me seem solid except the flamers. Getting that close with such a light vehicle that isn't packing flamer/melta loaded sisters seems problematic.

Heavy Bolters with Storm Bolters or Las Cannons with Storm Bolters seems fine to me. . .

I plan on eventually having 4 Razor Backs with Heavy Bolters and Storm Bolters as back up for my Las Cannon & Flamer Squads. . .

Although I will say that I am also tempted to have Rhino's with Plasma Rifles and Las Cannons since its close in price.
