Ok back to back games. Here is my list in a nutshell:

Eldrad
Avatar

Harlies....I goofed and took 3 too many but karma got me for it, so its ok.

20 WG with seers
8 pathfinders

3 lords with SC SL

Dawn of war, 5 objectives (the bushes and light pine tree) I go first.

I deploy. Eldrad is Ra right now, but he later is Yriel. I never use Yriel so I wont mix those up.

Deployed after using Eldrad.

I move everything on, watching my wraithsight ranges.

He moves up.

I leave the right lord as a speedbump. I do a LOT of wounds with all those heavy weapons but no dead nobs yet.

He takes the lord.

Doom and guide make short work of the nobs. I goof and for some reason fleet the harlies up and charge. I really dont know what I was thinking, my big mistake of the game.

He takes the guard, but wasnt able to get into base with eldrad and the lord.

Another round of doom/guide and I set the guard up to take the next charge.

Bikers wipe the guard and consolidate into the ruins.

I shoot the squad down, and asault with the avatar. Game ends locked.

He wins though, 2 objectives to one! Ill take a moral victory though. I thought it was a guaranteed massacre for him.

A good game of 40k is one part competition and two parts cooperation.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

You don't often see WG not on the table at the end of a game, but if anything can do it, it's a pile of Nob Bikers.
Nice, consice, well-illustrated report.

You should have tried to contest one of his objectives and force a draw... I mean, I'm sure you did try, but you'll have to try harder than that! Heh... better luck next time, and good work cleaning up as many of them as you did!

Unlucky on the loss; first time i played bikerz i got tabled in 4 turns. Had a bit more success recently; seeing as most biker armies take grots to hold objectives, i started taking a squad of 8 hawks plus exarch (with skyleap, natch) in order to contest objectives on the last turn. This is the only time i've ever found the hawks to be effective.

I dont think the loss was unlucky. I was surprised and very excited that I managed to wipe the bikers with this army. If I didnt play it the way I did he wouldve bowled me over and had a massacre by turn 4 as you say.

Yeah I couldve sent something over to kill the grots, but I wasnt worried about winning objectives I just wanted to try and kill the nobs.

This is the first time Ive ever lost more than 4 in a whole game, but yeah. What had to be done to stop the bikers had to be done. As I said before I was shocked that I killed them all, so I felt good about that.

I think you would probaly needed something fast in your army or a greater amount of template range weapons to hurt and make them grots flee. Jetbikes with warlocks/destructer for a small amount of points could have been sent on a lone run to clear out the gruts and not hurt your Nob biker built killing force, because I figure your rangers did little to help.

Just a random question, but how did those objectives get placed there? I'm fairly certain that the D3 + 2 objectives mission specifies that they have to get 12" from any table edge and 12" from each other. 4 of the 5 (2 on each long edge) appear to be well within 12" of the table edge. Or is this just a home mission that has 5 objectives in symmetrical places?

We goofed. I probably forgot at the time about the table edge rule.
