Please take a look at my list. In 2000 points, this is really what I'm going to try and field, I think. The Big Meks walk behind a unit of three Kanz to provide a 4+ cover, as well as to the Shoota Boyz walking behind. Lootaz sit near middle of board, and the trukks and Deffkopta units are for quick reaction and mobility.

Does this look like an effective list with a viable strategy?

Big Mek + PK, KFF, HA, CB 125

Well, the Lootas will be targeted first. If the enemy has cover ignoring weapons (Whirlwind, Sternguard with special ammunition), the Lootas will die early in the game.
I'd drop them for more shooty Boyz and Trukk Boyz.

Drop the Lootaz? Really? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you must face Orks instead of playing them. They're EXTREMELY hard hitting. And if my opponent is shooting at my Lootaz, they aren't shooting at the 6 Kans, 60 walking Boyz and 28 Trukking Boyz that are headed right for them.

My army is based around redundancy and posing multiple threats so that they have a hard time concentrating fire on just one unit. Plus, the Trukk, hopefully, can zoom up to whatever is shooting at my Lootaz and try their best to stop it.

The land of cotton.

Looks like a pretty good list... I field something similar. Personally I like Kustom Mega Blastas on the Kans for Anti Terminator duty, and Big Shootas instead of Rokkits in the Boyz squads. I also run 12 man Lootas instead of 15 to make dice rolling faster. Also I like a Deff Dred or two just for flavor... my last game the 4 DCCW Dred nicknamed "The Crab" tore a Land Raider apart (that will be the last game my opponent ignores the Dred) with 6 S10 attacks. Ouch. Since you can run them as Troops it makes Dawn of War deployments interesting... start the game with a Big Mek, Shoota Boyz and one Deff Dread as close to the deployment line as possible, pushing the enemy back against their table edge.

The only problem I see in this list, well actually that is the main problem for all Orks list, is when they face LRC spam. 3 LRC with close combat specialist inside will just destroy this list fast. The LRC can take out the kanz very fast, and Rockits just cant destroy LRC. After that the 3 close combat unit just need to make multiple assault and is game over.

I thought long and hard about how to take on three LRCs, and there is really no way I can think of to fight them effectively with an Ork army. I just have to deploy the trukk boys and hope for the best with that PK Nob. Anything below 14 AV, though, is what all those Rokkitz are for.

The reason I took the Rokkitz instead of the Big Shootas is that I'll be running my mobs during the shooting phase, so the 36" range doesn't help. If I can't Waagh on the turn I assault (used up already) than the Rokkits will defiantly be in range on my assault.

KMB for my Kanz are a little too expensive for what's basically assualty units, IMO. They're there to get a 4+ Obscured Save from shooting until they assault, but also provide cover for the Shootas behind them. [edit] You know, looking at the stats once more, I think you're right. KMB would be better suited for the Kanz, but I'm not sure if I want all three in a unit to have them, since they're so expensive. Maybe two KMBs and 1 rokkit or something.[/edit]

Would 12 Lootaz be a much better choice than 15? The problem I see is taking 25% casualties by losing just three Orks. At that point, they're no longer fearless. With a full unit of 15, I'd have to take 5 casualties before I'd even have to worry about them breaking and running. If I place them properly in cover (and also behind my unit lines) they should at least be making 4+ cover saves.
