Hello, everyone!

I've been working hard on my New Deathskull Army. I'm taking most of my models from my Old Deathskullz and stripping them to repaint or re-model. I'll also be using a bunch of the new stuff that's recently come out.

So far, I have several standard boys assembled, but I wanted to show you a couple of my newest conversions. I've really tried hard to get some good practice with plasticard. I love making things from scratch to save money. I think it really adds to the personality of my army.

Now, if you want to see my Old Deathskullz just follow that link. Beware, there are LOTS of pictures in that thread. Also, you can see another of my projects, my Skullhamma, that's been put on the backburner, while I finish my standard 1850 point army. Thanks for looking!

Starting off, my first two Nobz with Power Klaws. I noticed that none of my AOBR Nobz had PKs, so instead of buying up a box of the new plastics, I thought I'd try my hand at making my own from scratch. The Klaws are purely plasticard. I was afraid that they would come out too big and unwieldy, but I think they look good, once attached to the arm.

Next, I finished my first of my 6 strong Killa Kanz. I used an old looted sentinal that I stripped down and tore apart. I was a bit out of ideas for what I could do with them, until I saw Teek's masterpiece. Looting his design, I've come up with this. The weapon in his mouth has magnets and can be interchanged with other gunz.

I really like the Killa Kan, it came out nice.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Yes, I must give more credit where it is due: Dave helped me immensely with the gob and the way the gun pokes out of the mouth. Thanks so much, Dave!

It's been about two months and I have been keeping my Orks coming along. As soon as I get a camera available, I want to post up some WIP pictures. Until then, I have one picture to show you guys for now.

My GW store in Glen Burnie offered me a Stompa to build and paint for Games Day. It would make the circuit until September which then I'd get it back (hopefully) and keep. There were a few if these handed out, so I wanted to make sure that my Stompa stood out a bit. What better way than to give it an awesome head.

This is just a camera phone picture, but I will take more shortly!

Lovin the battlewagon head, and how did you make the kopta launch pad?

LOVE that Stompa.
I've wondered just how the front of a BWagon would look as a head... COOLER than I'd imagined. I think I'm going to use that to remedy the problem on my scratch built Stompa.

Got pics of the back of the head?

I wouldn't be surprised to see THAT bad boy in White Dwarf!

Very impressive use of plasticard, from the Nob PKs to the looted sentinel (something I would never have thought of). I love the use of the Battle Wagon as the Stompa head as well.

I've been trying to will myself to finish my Banelord and IG...but blogs like this keep pushing me towards starting an Ork army.

Sorry about the delay in replying. I kept meaning to, but now that I've got pictures, I figured I should respond before posting them.

@ McFly: The kopta launch pad was basically a couple of pieces from the chemical factory kit stuck on to the end of the gun arm.

@ Teek: Thanks for your kind words! Much of your work has inspired me, and I hope I can do the same for you.

@ MagickalMemories: I'm uploading some PIP pictures. I'll take a picture of the back of the head before I send it off to Games Day.

More pictures coming tonight. I just have to finish uploading them. Thanks for your comments, it really motivates me to continue putting time into this hobby.

Here are some pictures of my painted models. I haven't gotten as far as I wanted with this army because of school getting in the way. Also, my Stompa that GW asked me to paint is coming along for Games Day, but it puts all my other projects on the back burner. I've had 10 days since Monday, but I've only gotten about an hour or two to paint the big guy. If someone wants to write papers for me, I'd happily spend more time painting. I apologize for the image quality. I don't have a tripod today, or my girlfriend's parent's sweet lightbox setup. I had to use my own.

First, my Shoota and Slugga Boy mobs. I knew getting in that I'd have more than 130 of these models to paint, so I came up with a really fast painting scheme for my boys. I basically prime in white, base coat a brighter color on all the surfaces, and then use GW washes to bring them back down to a nice moderate while shading all in one go. I'll skip the highlighting until I have more time to go back and finish it up. For now, they're table-top ready.

Then, I finished a mob of 12 Lootaz using the same basic painting principle. I really like these models, but I wish I had more time to sit and convert them up, like some of the amazing ones I've seen on DakkaDakka. For now, though, I think they look good enough.

Also, here's the PIP shot of Blitzgog, my stompa. You can see my 2 cent lightbox in this picture as well.

And finally, my pride and joy, Big Boss Mekskraga. I converted him up from an AOBR boss. I tried my best to hide his original form. Also, his shorts and arm are the first greenstuff attempts I have ever made. I'd like to try to do more with that particular medium. Finally, you might note a couple of ideas borrowed from here and there. It's not Deathskull if it's not looted!

As always, please click on my thumbnails to take a look at the full-sized pictures. Any critiques are welcome. I live off comments.

Fantastikly orky and inspiring work there Chrispy!.

The boyz and lootaz look great and the technique you've come up with to get them done so quickly and to such a nice standard is worthy of its own separate blog entry.

Kudos on the scratch-build work on Mekskraga too... that bionik leg looks like it could get down to some butt-kicking all by itself.
Can't wait to see him get some paint.

Keep up the great work!

@Teek: Thank you much! I borrowed the idea for the leg from a mek at The-Waaagh, and the loader arm I built after seeing insaniak's exo-scouts.

@GitSmack: I'll be honest, I took a good look at your mek's KFF before taking a stab at mine. I didn't pull it off nearly as well, but I really appreciate your comments! I hope to paint him up last in my army, so that I'll be able to get in some practice on the little stuff first. Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for your Ork gallery. I have plenty of your pictures saved on my hard drive!

Kudos on the B-Mek, his cybork headswap is inspired, also leg is amazingly detailed.

Can I, as someone facing mass ork painting in the near future, request a step by step on your ork boyz scheme and technique, they are looking sweet considering the relatively easy process you mention.

@Fifty: It was quite an easy conversion to do, and I think it gets a lot of positive attention. All I had to do was partially assemble my battlewagon, and then cut the thing in half with a dremel.

@MeanGreenStompa: I'm currently painting another 40 or so boys. I'll post a step by step of my process for you and anyone else who is interested. Take a look back next week!

Wow, you've gotten busy Awesome stuff!

There's a group of people from dakka who will be getting together on Saturday @ 5:00 at the GW battle bunker. I know it's a long shot, but I'd love to see some of this stuff in person if you happen to be around

Keep posting the progress and I'm glad I'll be seeing that beast at Games Day!
