Hey everyone I just barely started warmachine with a friend of mine he plays legion and I play cryx out of the 6 times I have fought him he has won every single time and now he is leaving for europe for 2 years in 2 weeks and I have to beat him atleast once before he leaves does anyone have a good 750 list that would work well against him he generally runs and a carnivian, angelius, nyphlium, 2 serephs, a unit of swords men with those paracite things and either epic lylth or that one warlock who makes warbeast immune as her feat, and a few other things to get him to 750 (shreders, or forsaken)?
(sorry if I mispelled the unit names)

He,
Important to know is what do you have?? I can suggest a lot, but if you do not have it then it will not benefit you...
what do you usually play and what goes wrong? Can't stop the carniveran, are the shredders a problem?? do tell... I personally have little experience with legion, but I know with a bit more info people here ccan help you... (if not go to privateer press forums...)
My first suggestion is deneghra and a nightmare (really like that combo) plus the usual allotment of 3 or 4 chickens. Then some pistolwraiths. Some mechanithralls (full unit) and a few bilethralls. Finally if you need antiinfantry try the baneknights. Or if it is more heavy maybe the banethralls are more the thing you need...
let us know what the problem is and we will help...

Iron Lich Asphixious and Pistol Wraiths are good choices when facing legion.
Pistol Wraiths can be hard to weed out and Asphixious can kill any Warlock in combat on his feat turn regardless of how much fury they have (including Vayl on full 8 fury).

Generally what tends to happen is he just sits on top of a few fury every turn so I can never get a casterkill and his war beasts just beat on my army until im dead
Here is my army so far I am picking up combine and Edenny later today (any suggestions for what to get next would be nice too )

All camping fury means is they can take a few more hits than a warcaster can. And when I say
more, I mean more. You generally either have to hit a warlock camping fury with many attacks
to get an assassination or break his beasts first.
Remember he can't transfer to a beast with full fury.

A friend of mine plays cryx. he's quite good at it. generally he'll run 1 to 3 arc nodes, deathjack, 10 bane knights, 10 bane thralls or 6 with regular goreshade and then 10 bane thralls, taterous, 10 bile thralls, and 10 mechanithralls. I usually end up seeing one specialized unit either 3 shooty cephalex or the ones that screw up your leadership and take over your models as well.
Cryx does very well with very heavy infantry based armies. It gives my legion severe fits.

True words.
I'd add that you can often do more damage to beasts by hitting the Warlock as they almost always have a lower ARM than their beasts. Knowing when to hit a caster knowing where the transfer will go is a powerful tool against Hordes (not just Legion).
In a nutshell just remember that fury transfer isn't free, unlike camping focus the damage always goes somewhere.

He,
I would say make an assasination list with a couple arcnodes (rippers and wretches). Take the 2 pistolwraiths and the biles and baneknights. If you get close to the caster with a node then make 3 venom attacks. His caster might transfer damage, but then his beasts sufer. Caster will have poison and 2 or 3 fewer damage transfer abilities. have the wraiths shoot the caster. they have 2 shots and a chainattack each. chainattack would stick to the caster and the shots should be transferred, only their fury for transfer should be running low now. Hopefully you can now get some purges on the caster ands or some nightwretch-shots to finish.
The baneknights should be able to take care of the beasts he sends for you and keep your caster safe. I think you will also have a few more points leftover to buy protection...
Good luck...
