OK so I was at the source the other day when I saw this little package with 2 slow blow fuses and I thought "Wow paint this green and you have a necron spare ammunition thing . Anyways I kept looking and found a whole load of stuff that would look awesome for conversions. Anyways point being if you want to do awesome conversions just look around your local PC store, electronics store etc for random cheap things that look awesome. If anyone has any other ideas for places you can get small cheap stuff to make conversions, post here.

I've been picking up random bits of plastic* in preperation for my Orks (gawd I can't wait anymore!) and on a similar note, is there any plastics or "cheap stuff" you should avoid? Like, glue turns it into NAPALM-LAVA or the paint doesn't stick or whatever...?
*so far I have a old toy robot leg, a kinderjoy spoon, plastic coffee stirring-stick, a crate filled with old McDonalds toys, Lego Bionicle bits, lucky packet charms and an exploded lighter (it made AWESOME spikes)

Found something new. My sister used to have bionicles. Anyways I was looking for my glue when I found something awesome. there's this piece that looks like it could be used as a giant power sword or a power klaw. Also I recently used some really super cheap materials to make some OK buildings http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/234633.page and as you can see it's not the best but it's ok for a small house game with friends if you can't afford buildings from GW or materials to make your own. It's made from Styrofoam and tape or in my case the ends of note pads lol. I also just made a ruin building and SM building using the same thing and tape and it doesn't look half bad.

Sorry to double post but i missed your post lol. I'm pretty sure that anything can have the paint stick as long as you prime it. the primer acts as an adhesive but on a similar note (XP) test prime blank stirofoam first because i think it can melt it or something so test it first.

Really the best place is easily a good sized dollar store. The ones with a toys AND a hardware section. Those 2 section will be loaded with cheapies from other countries that just look to weird to use normally. I raid those and find ALOT of nice Ork ( as well as other races I guess) things to use.
