Here is the list I plan to use at my local tournaments

HQ:

Fateweaver
= 333

Bloodthirster
= 250

Elites:

8x Bloodcrushers
= 320

8x Bloodcrushers
= 320

8x Bloodcrushers
= 320

Troops:

5x Plaugebearers
= 75

5x Plaugebearers
= 75

5x Plaugebearers
= 75

5x Plaugebearers
= 75

Total: 1843

I was toying around with dropping a bloodcrusher to get unholy might on the bloodthirster but am not sure. What do you all think?

I think this list is very tough.... but if you lose the blood thirster and the fateweaver you're screwed if a walker shows up!

And you have icons right?

I think you should get some upgrades for your bloodcrushers and make the squad only 6 or 7 strong. Fury of Khorne is necessary if you don't want to risk having your bloodcrushers locked in combat with dreadnoughts all game long.

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

drop 2 crushers from each unit, give all upgrades to the 6 in each unit.

cut out a unit of plagues and spend all remaining points on bulking up the 3 other units.

please say you have included icons in that list 0_o

Its good, but lacks anti tank. you could drop the BT, a handful of crushers and pick up 3 soul grinders.

Thirster is unneeded, very ncie but fateweaver is enough

If you drop the thirster, upgrade your crushers with upgrades to abuse the wound allocation

Make sure you get them all upgraded to abuse it, then worry about troops

plaguebearers may be resiliant but I always find the sacred number 7 to be just enough but not too much. Plus an icon

Having four squads is good, though. don't sacrifice your troops when trying to pay for more crushers, if you have to go down to just 2 squads of crushers you should still be okay, they are overkill as it is.

@ frgsinwntr: I think icons are a waste of points and if I have overlooked the dreadnought for that long then I diserve to lose.

@ Arbalest: I've taken that into acount that Fury of Khorne is needed. If I drop one bloodcrusher and give the bloodthirster unholy might then I can give two squads Fury of Khorne.

@ JD21290: I have tried using wound allocation on the bloodcrushers before and it didn't help much. Five plaugebearers are enough to grab objectives and not too difficut to keep alive.

@ extrenm(54): The bloodthirster is my anti tank, because with the new rules bloodcrushers can take on normal vehicles, as they always strike rear armour. The bloodthirster is meant to take out land raiders and walkers (I always ignore Monoliths). As above I think icons are a waste pf points.

I apperciate the quick responses and would like continue to hear your opinions.

EDIT: @ Nenya97: Bloodthirster is needed becuase niether bloodcrushers with Fury of Khorne nor Kairos can relably deal with Land Raiders.

Okay, i see why you wouldn't drop the thirster. I didn't see it that way

I would say taking out one of the crusher squads to upgrade all the other stuff, or maybe nurfing one squad a bit to get that wound allocation business going, it will make those guys durable and able to withstand the round of shooting they will take after massacring a unit on the turn they charge.

I only see Fury as being worth it. The istrument will alsmost never help and the icons I don't think are good.

The reason you put the upgrades on them is so it takes 9 wounds to kill one model

The instrument is 5 points, and allows you to drop a wound onto a model without potentially losing a model...

My problem with fateweaver is that he kind of leads you to clump your forces together, and bloodcrushers have a large footprint to begin with.

You'll have problems with mechanized lists. With fateweaver in there, I'd almost suggest running horrors instead of plaguebearer, and taking a few more bolts of change to help you against stuff that S6 attacks can't cope with. Cause relying on one 4-wound model to be your anti-bigtank is asking for problems.

How does it take nine wounds to kill one crusher? With full upgrades it takes 5 wounds to kill one crusher, right?

Horrors do not work in this list, as they simply die to small arms fire. Plague bearers ignore most small arms fire, and with cover, can ignore most any kind of shooting. (Going to ground for a three up then a four up is nice.)

I have not really played against many mechinized lists with this army, but the ones that I have played have been farely easy wins.

For the most part, it seems that if I get my prefered half then I win, and if not then I might have to work for it. I play double lash constantly and always win or draw. Ork nobz is super easy. Normal Space Marines are fairly easy to deal with. This army has lots of good match ups.

The way that I run mine is more risk / more reward. Most of the time I bet on the three up and roll with it from there.

Maybe consider dropping either the Thirster or a unit of crushers to take a pair of Grinders? Might be useful, and help in the anti-LR category.
