I'm a newbie and I have the following question: In less than 2000 point games where it says you can only use 1 rare unit, does this mean the number of squads or regiments or is it the number of models in those squads or regiments. For example if I bought the starter box set of night goblins twice would I be able to use both trolls if they were a single unit or would that count as using two rare units? The entry says unit size: 1+ so I don't know what it means by that

by unit size 1+ it means you can take any number over 1.
each unit will use up a rare choice, but they must be of the same type.

example:

you could take 1 stone troll in 1 unit, 100 river trolls in another unit (points are a bit much though )
or 50 basic trolls in yet another unit, each would only use up a single rare choice each if unit size is 1+

Yes I believe that question has already been answered. It says in the army books, the size of the units ie 1 eagle or 1 bolt thrower or one cannon. Some armies get 3+ units, like the Bretonnias flying knights.
