Hey all, I am moving to Henryville PA shortly and was wondering what the gaming community is like up there. I play mainly 40k, though I could brush off the rust and play fantasy as well. I also have interest in many strategy and RPG games. I have been gaming for many years.

There do not seem to be any shops or clubs around that area that I have found. A few seem to be in Northhampton county which is around 35-45 min away.

Any advice or info is much appreciated! I'd also love to get together for some casual games.

Thanks

Mike

The Portal Comics and Gaming is your best bet. Come in on a Saturday someone is almost always there playing 40k, Fantasy, Warmachine, or whatever.

Look for the big guy with the loud mouth. That's Dave. He plays Orks but he's ok.

I also live in the Poconos but not sure where Henryville is.

Every Saturday from 4pm - 9pm at Hobbytown USA in Allentown theres a 40k / Fantasy club.
Games are usually 1750 - 2000 points in size and going to be starting a 40k campaign in a few weeks. Usually 4 active games going with a team game mixed in. Got a bit of every army and every play style for the most part.

Plus every Sunday my friends and I try to have a game night at my place and we're 10 min away from Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Only 6 strong and just into 40k atm but looking to get into fantasy. Our games are around 1000 - 1500 in size and we promote goofing around over power gaming
Not sure if that helps at all but just in case

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks gents, you were very helpful. Basically I'm not far from Tannersville (exit 299 off I80). Seems like both places are around 45 min away. Not right around the corner, but most likely worth the trip. Hopefully I will be able to get out there soon.

Well I finally checked out The Portal! Haven't been able to beg borrow or steal time on a weekend for some proper play but I played hooky one day last week and dropped in. Bought some paint and a Bastion. Place was hopping for a Monday late afternoon! I couldn't get over how well stocked it was and how much gaming space was available. I forgot to ask though...the tables in the back rooms...can anyone just show up and set up or do they need to be reserved/rented/whatever?
