Not in one turn.

You can only Embark and Disembark in the Movement Phase, and even so, a Unit may Not Embark and Disembark in the same turn (either from the same transport or different transports)

What you can do, Is disembark, fire, and then reimbark in your next movement phase.

See Pages 66 and 67 of the BRB for how it works.

Since you can only voluntarily embark/disembark during the movement phase, and since there is no movement phase after the shooting phase, I'd say it's pretty much a no way in h*** proposition.

You can still do it, all it means is the avengers are vulnerable for a turn

Well, it means that and that you can only do it half as many times. Since the get out, shoot, get in thing takes two turns, it effectively cuts the number of times you'll be shooting people with the guys inside the transport to half as many as you would with guys without transport.

Depending on the game, that half-as-many route equates to much more since the guys aren't getting shot up the whole game, remain mobile, and generally just keep themselves out of bad situations, so there is more of the group firing due to less casualties.

I've seen the difference between mechanized Tau and transportless fire warriors hanging around in cover. The difference is significantly in favor of those that can pick their fights and remain mobile.

Take bladestorm then. Since you can only shoot 1/2 turns, that works perfectly! Almost by design...

According to the 2nd INAT FAQ in the jet pack infantry section, if you do not declare an assault and chose to make an assault movement, you can re-embark after shooting. But thats jet pack unit specific.

This would be a sweet tactic for Warp Spiders.

I'm not saying this is legal, but I'm going to look into it.

What a pity that jump infantry (which includes jet pack infantry) are not allowed to embark in transports at any time. See p.66 of the main rulebook.

Unless there's something in the Tau/Eldar codexes that specifically allows them to enter a transport vehicle, they cannot do it.

Jump Infantry aren't normally allowed to enter transports so it doesn't matter much.

Its a shame that the INAT FAQ means utterly nothing and that by the Rules you cannot embark on a transport in the Assault phase (nor can Jump Infantry Actually embark on a transport)

Hey, it means something if you're playing in an event that is using it.

But I digress, the INAT FAQ says no such thing. It says that Jetpack infantry that disembarks can still make a run movement, not that you can embark again after running.

This ruling applies to only one unit, that being Drones as no other jetpack units are allowed to be embarked on a vehicle in the first place. In the future, I'll move that question into the Tau section and mention drones specifically to make sure there is no confusion.

Yea it is a bummer that you cant do it in one turn.

But what I do with my tau is put them in the fastest transport that you can give them as many assault weapons as possible. i throw them in front of enemy transports blow them up with anti tank fire then blow them away with infantry seems to work well only have played one game with the tau but i did slaughter dark Eldar.

Sleep now in my Bolter Fire.

No embarkation takes place during movement. Shooting phase occurs after movement.

I believe the sentence should read "No, embarkation takes place during movement."
