I decided to start my conversions with the Emperor's Champ, since he is the one model I know I will always be bringing. In the process, I started eyeing the cool bits in the BT upgrade box and the AoBR commander I had lying around. End result was a WIP Marshal. C&C welcome. Don't hold your breath for paint on these two, since I need to practice with the scheme on some troops first. I just got inspired to do these, so wanted to get them done while that inspiration lasted.

This is a revision on my EC. He initially had a bolt pistol in his right hand, but I swapped it for a scroll. A lot of people said it looked like he was making his vow, and I decided I really liked that and ran with it. As it is now, I think he looks like he has just finished reading the litanies for his vow and is about to stand up, with his fist clenching around the scroll, hence the arc in the scroll.

Bits used:

Kneeling legs, both arms, and head from Space Marine Command Squad box.
Sword from WFB Empire General.
Torso, backpack, various seals and accessories, and scroll from Black Templar box.

Next up is my Marshal. He started with just a bit of swapping, then turned into a bit of an ordeal, since the BT tabard torsos wouldn't fit with the knee on the AoBR model. I ended up using the tabard bit from the Space Marine Command Squad along with one of the plain BT torsos.

Bits used:

AoBR Commander minus torso, head, arms, and backpack.
Torso, head, arms, backpack and accessories from BT upgrade box.

Looking good so far, really like the Emperor's Champion (need to paint my standard one up one day), as he stands out.

Dig the marshal too, never would have thought to use the AOBR captain like that, but he looks good! He does look a bit busy though with the seals everywhere, but it fits with the BT pictures that show them plastered with heraldry.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out in the end.

Loving the EC there... great idea for sword bits (mine might be getting a sword swap now methinks as his current one isjust the plastic power weapon from the templar sprue.), kneeling is also a good idea, would never have come up with that.

you want busy, check the hellbrecht model, ( i head swapped mine and gave him a spear and all I get now is OMG thats so ott etc etc, until I point out that i've not made it any busyier than the original sculpt) I think your marshal looks badass, the only downside I could see is that its not really his optimum weapon loadout but itstill looks awesome. Also you might need to Greenstuff behind that tabbard to make it look attached but i cannot tell from this angle. Keep up the good work.
