I've got a couple models I'd like to repaint, but I'm not quite sure about the best way to go about it. I've heard you can strip the paint off models with pine-sol or something like it. Does this really work and will it work on both metal and plastic models? If not, I could use some recommendations.

Yes, stripping models is a must do for repainting.

I can vouch for the use of simple green as well. Used it on some old models I got from a friend and it worked wonders. Took the paint right off without affecting the model itself.

Purple Power works way better than Simple Green. You can buy it at automotive stores, and it's cheap! Just wear gloves, as it's fairly harsh on the skin.

LOL yea it is. You saw that tutorial on using it didnt you? Burned the hell out of his finger tip. But it really did an amazing job on all of those minis. Some of them looked AWFUL before the stripping
