Doesn't the fluff say something about the Necrons eradicating the Slann and reducing them to some small primative pockets here and there? I also believe they said that when the Necrons find such Slann, they consider their souls a particularly satisfying delicacy...

Hmm...
Necrons have better shooting, and more survivability due to the fact that the lizards have little to counter WBB.
However, they're pretty screwed in the magic phase, as they have only the 2 basic dispel dice. Lizards also have CC advantage, with basic troopers hitting much harder up close.

Um, if your playing any sort of magic heavy army, just take Pariahs. Totally broken. +1 Dispel Dice AND -1 Power dice?
Yeah they may die pretty quick but they will totally murder any Magic Heavy Army.

He's on the right track... I didn't mean vs., but there are connections between the two. Of course GW has always stated that the two worlds ( WHFB and 40K) are entirely separate, but one of the codexs states otherwise.

Actually, I am completely serious. If some of us would read our books... The Lizardmen's Army Book told a fluff story of "metallic shaped triangular objects" coming down from the skies in front of the Slann...

No, the Tau are murlocs. Think about it [edit]for Tyranids[/edit] though: Reptilian, very old, came from beyond where the other races originated, genetically engineered, many different species to fulfill different roles, overseen by vast alien intelligences, have morbidly obese beings that nonetheless very important. Not a perfect fit, but it's closer than anything else.

Necrons are so obviously related to Tomb Kings, there's the skeleton look, the vaguely Egyptian theme and the fact they both come from tombs.
I'd have thought Lizardmen were Slan though as both are reptiles.
The undead from Vampire Counts are Nurgle forces and the Vampires themselves are possibly Slaneesh.

Oh, well if you count the old Slaan as still being around they'd probably be closer to the lizardmen.
Tyranids for a mainstream race though.

Yeah.
I say that the 40k equivalent of the Lizardmen are... well... the Lizardmen aka Slann.
If any of the main armies was like the Lizardmen, it would be the Eldar: both were created by the Old Ones, and both hate Chaos.
