Hi to all!

Finally I finished my Warhammer 40K ogre conversion: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/231919.page

Some time ago I painted this ogre but he needed something special... a great base... and I've got it! A sewer!!

I've recicled some materials to use in this base, like old pens, a little cable or a piece of brass (to get a real pipes).

1st STEP

You can see (in these bad pictures), the base before painted it.

2nd STEP

I've no photos about the painting process. I'm sorry, but I show you what kind of paints I used to get it:

1.- I printed it with Black Chaos (Games Workshop),
2.- I used the airbrush fo the base with these kind of paints (alwys mixed with Tamiya Thinner X-20A, for acrylic paints):

- Hull Red XF-9 (Tamiya),
- Brown Chocolate (Vallejo),
- shadows: Burnt Umber ( Vallejo, Model Air, ref. 040),
- lights: Sand (Vallejo, Model Air, ref. 075),

3.- Rusts:

- Middie Stone (Vallejo, Model Air, ref. 031),
- Dirt (Vallejo, Train Color, ref. 73005),
- Basic Rust (Vallejo, Train Color, ref. 73001),
- Turquoise (Vallejo, Model Color, ref. 966),
- Smoke X-19 (Tamiya),
- Charadon Granite (Citadel Foundation) for washes,

5.- The water (made with DAS putty):

- Olive Green XF-58 (Tamiya),
- Turquoise(Vallejo, Model Color, ref. 966) and Warlord Purple (Vallejo, Game Color, ref. 14),
- Water Effect (Games Workshop),
- Still Water (Vallejo)
- Light Sand (Vallejo, Model Color, ref. 837) and Chaik White (Vallejo, Train Color, ref. 73006) for the waves,

6.- Details:

- Coke can: Fire Red (Vallejo, Model Air, ref. 71084) + Chaik White (Vallejo, Train Color, ref. 73006)
- newspaper: Light Sand (Vallejo, Model Color, ref. 837) y Chaik White (Vallejo, Train Color, ref. 73006) + Black (Vallejo, Model Air, ref. 71057) + Charadon Granite (Citadel Foundation),

7.- Final effects:

I used Sand, Light Sand and Mud pigments from Tamiya Weathering Master kit.

And that's it! I hope you like it!

Regards...

Under the Himalaiyan mountains

Another awesome diorama from connann. Is that a head or a skull in the pipe?

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Woah, that's amazing! I could see a unit of these stomping (or swimming) around, maybe not on a diorama base but the concept is great!

Again a great scene. The rust and corrosion on the wall are amazing.

Nice infected looking skin on the ogryn next to the pipes.

Great work, however if it is a sewer, I would expect that the walls would be more slimy/ water corroded/ damp- possible some ink washes and varnishes would bring this out. Also, if the walls were darker, it would help light up the ogre skin/ contrast?

Great work though!

cheers

Oh liquid resin! I have always wanted to use that in something, someday. Is it hard to work with?

And top work, as usual, by the way.

Nice work, great weathering techniques too! I wish you had a better camera so we could fully appreciate the work.

That is really cool.

I love the weathering and the verdigris, and I love how grimdark the whole piece is. It mixes that sort of gothic fantasy with the "thing in the sewers", then kicks it into the 41st Millenium.

Nice. (I'm saying that alot today.)

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Connann, do you have a bottle labeled NEW Extra Strength KICK-ASS FORMULA that you drink before you come on here or what? Your work is amazing, have you ever entered anything for Golden Daemon?
