The proposed unit would be a two orc deffkopta.

Dual intermeshed overhead contrarotating rotors.

cockpit layout similar to an Apache attack helicopter.
No tail rotor would be necessary.
a gimbal mounted ZZAP cannon under the nose.
and a fixed forward firing twinlinked big shoota on a stub wing both sides.

Thoughts?

This is I think just one step up from the current kopta.
more of a tank hunter.

I thought it as a equivalent in some ways to the Eldar Vyper

I also had an idea for a troop carrier.
same rotor layout.
no main weapon but orc door gunners each side with twin linked big shootas
able to carry 12?
or if it could carry a full squad of boys this would be ore usefull

Well they won't be flyers. Not for use in Aeronautica.
Not as powerful I suspect.
Also the Mega DeffKopta will look cool.

I like models that look like they're actually capable of flight.

I think you're concept is an awful lot like the two new Imperial guard units, new to their codex, coming out in about a month. So using the Valkyrie as a template would be easy enough.

They're fast skimmers, with 12/12/10 armor. 100pts. May transport 12. Armed with a multilaser which maybe upgraded to a lascannon; additionally door mounted heavy bolters may be purchased, as well as either one use "hellstrike" missiles (similar to battle cannon) or multiple missile launchers (like a large blast mortar). Troops can deep strike out the back with a chance of getting hurt.

I think you're concept of Ork Apache are more appropriately covered by some upgrade to the actual ork Deffkopta rather than adapting the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie I think is a good template for your Ork transport... I just imagine a Chinook with the big "jaw" off of the Ork battle wagon.

I'm only really interested in making a deffkopta that has a chance of killing a tank.

It'd have to be for use in 40k apocalypse I guess.

There are better pictures floating around the net, but it gives you the basic idea. It's a good base for a transport, but if you just want a tank killer you could go with something smaller I suppose.
