This army is so far down the line it's not even funny but all the new IG stuff coming up is making it more temping...

It's an Adeptus Mech army that counts as Tau.

Servitors as kroot, tech priest as etherial, crisis suits as either sentinels or cyber ogryn (or both... hmm...)

So here are my 2 firewarrior test squads which can serve as IG till I find a use.

Empire handgunners with pig iron heads.

The image is a bit blurry, I'll replace it later.

Squat thunderers, or skull pass dwarfs with the horns cut off.

Don't take this personally Kid, but sometimes I get the feeling that your enthusiasm for the hobby outweighs your skills. Try to put a little more effort into painting. Right now I see one skin tone and one metal tone on the dwarfs. Both would look much better with a little ink or wash here and there.

Agreed. Your enthusiasm will be amplified directly by the time you invest in each model.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

Oh totally, the painting is crap (and will likely remain so). I fall in love with conversion ideas but rarely have the patience to do more than base coats (esp for line troops) and NEVER have the patience for bases.

If I was smart I'd just model up conversions and play with unpainted models.

But anyway, I'm not subjecting the good people of Dakka to my crude painting out of sadism, I'd like to hear C&C related to the army idea and the conversion so far.

But feel free to slam the painting too, sticks work as well as carrots.

KK isn't the best painter, but he's an awesome modeller.

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Well, Gasmasks on Empire Riflemen seem like a good idea, but you should probably "gear" them up a little more. Some grenades and pouches from the guard sprues, maybe?
