NO SEASON 4 SPOILERS PLEASE!

I'm rewatching season 3 before jumping into season and 4 and gee... I see what I lost interest.

I mean, it's just not good.

The first few episodes with the heavy-handed Iraq parallel was great but after that, it's just long and dreary and depressing.

The mysteries are dragged out too long.

The final revalation made no sense and broke some of the established rules of the guessing game.

The elephants in the room are not addressed (why only 12 models of Cylons?).

And then we have the really terrible attempts to shoehorn characters into strange roles. Like Lee Adama becoming a lawyer because his grandfather was one. Would it be that hard to create 2 new characters for the trial?

Going back to the well by giving Adama an imaginary wife to go with Baltar's imaginary Six was cute, thank goodness they only did it for one episode or I'd really scream.

It's just joyless.

I have a big problem with Galactica, despite liking it a lot. Which is that Baltar didn't know his tall 6 girlfriend was a robot! How could he? No one knew Cylons looked like people!
Ok it was bad when he helped that other 6 later on (I can't remember if that was in series 3 so staying vague), but that is really the only thing he's guilty of, but they aren't trying him on that

It did seem to loose track a bit in 3rd series.
Primarily because they went with stand alone stories after the first 5 episodes of the 'Caprica Arc' rather which cause it to loose track.

I missed a lot of season 3 and 4.
I try not to watch episodes with more than 30 seconds of Baltar in them (he just gives me the irrits).

Skip to the episode with the algae planet, the episode with Starbuck and the heavy planet, and the final episode. nothing else needs to be viewed. Really, save yourself the hours of your life you'll never get back.

there are some gems in there, real good character moments and I liked the Cheif running the refinery ship episode. It fleshed out some of the issues that bugged me about the who world they'd created.

Just one disk to go (and this is rewatching so I know what happens) then I can enter the uncharted territory of season 4.

Then it's good that I stopped watching after season 2.

I love the show overall but yes season 3 was weak. It will get much better in season 4

Well I finished season 3 and 4/0 (BUT NOT 4.5, please don't spoil 4.5) and wow that was good.

You could totally skip most of season 3 and go right into 4.0.

So mad props to them.

Without spoilers, does 4.5 keep up the pace and quality?

Yeah pretty much. They kinda know it's time to wrap everything up so for the most part the story stays on track and there's a lot of action and people you might like suddenly getting killed and stuff like that. If you liked the first half the 2nd won't disappoint
