Well Good for you!

Hey guys did you hear? Evny here doesn't think it works! We've all been playing it wrong! Everyone hang your heads in shame!!!

Ok look, the Lash lets you move the unit yes? Now, since the person using lash gets to control that movement, they get to move the models however they want, including but not limited to, bunching them all up in a nice ball.

By your logic, you would never be able to move models out of the formation they deployed in, since you always move "units" (even IC's count as 1 model units).

In short:
You are wrong.
/Thread

P.S: I think you mean Lash of Submission. Lash Whips are a peice of wargear used by Tyranids to reduce a models CC attacks. I do give you some credit though, at least when you are wrong you dont miss anything out.

As a more informative response, the Chaos FAQ states that the Lash of Submission movement is taken exactly like normal movement. Very few tourny organizers will go against the FAQ.

It takes talent to cram that much whining into only two posts! Congrats!

Take a psychic Hood, transports or any of the other myriad counters to Lash and STFU!

Nurgleboy77... you play dual lash dont you

Nope, never. I just know how to counter it. I also don't piss and moan on the internet.

The Eldar Runes of Warding will help against it a lot. Never leave home without it.

Your Nids can counter it fairly easily as well.

Tau should have the Lasher dead before he reaches the 24" range or soon after.

Looks liek you're jsut playing them wrong.

seriously. at adepticon, every 4th army was chaos. and 90% of those had DP's with lash of submission.

Or maybe, the Chaos codex is so out of date and under powered, that that is their only competitive list, and what you view as "Cheap, unfair tactics" Is really just someone who plays Chaos trying to win?

It is wonderful tactical sense. Lash the enemy off an objective, lash your own guys over. If you are playing a 2v2 with a CC centered partner, lash the HQ over to their assault groups. Units out of range? Lash them in range. Takes skill to make a list outside of the two princes, and takes tactics to know which units to use. I actually congratulate the Chaos player for pulling it off so excellently.

Out of date?

It was one of the first 5th ed codices. There are armies out there still using 3rd.

And I don't think it's under powered at all, even without lash. It's fine, has lots of cool stuff, competitive even. But that's just opinion.

Build a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day; set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain.

Sly Marbo doesn't go to ground, the ground comes to him.

You can only lash enemy units.

This thread is not appropriate for the YMTC section. I suggest tactics is a better forum for this issue.
