Hey everybody,
i have been colecting space marines for a lil bit over 2 years and iv been going with ultra marines
at the moment im really bored with them and i want to give a new chapter a go
i have an army of over 1k points and im a decent comander but i really like close combat
so id like to know which army you think is better raven guard or black templers??

I'm not really an expert when it comes to either, but I've been looking into the Raven Guard for a while now. To me, it comes down to a choice between Knights Vs Ninjas. You can never go wrong with White/black color schemes either. Tough choice. I personally would go with the Ninjas. Lawlz

Black templars have their own codex and you may look also at the errata for them.
They are the "in your face" army type, so interest CC would fit.
Still, some of the new toys from codex space marines are not available for them.

Raven guard are part of codex SM, have access to the latest toys.
Difference is: RG needs to be used with thougth, they're good at getting into CC, but do need to concentrate on tactics rather than just run forward.


I believe there is no "better" army, only armys more fitting to playstyle.

Black Templars are more unique, while Ravenguard are still just spacemarines with a color scheme. If you follow their fluff, you will take an assault squad or two, but they arn't that much different.

BT's can get the Neophytes, Emperor Champs. etc. Stuff thats new/different. I would play them.
