Subject: Imperial Superheavy Company?

If you were building an Imperial Superheavy Company of 3 Baneblade-class tanks for Apocalypse, what would you take?
To start, I'd suggest:
- Baneblade w/ Sponsons for general havoc
- Shadowsword for Destroyer
- Stormlord for Transport
What would you do?

I just finished up an apoc game with the new IG rules and a couple of my super-heavies... Here are some thoughts.
Shadowsword was worth it. I played against orks using a dread mob and the ignore cover insta-pen was invaluable. I used the shadowsword domination force with 3 russes and 3 sentinels, but the ork shooting was completley shut down by myself and my teammates, so it was a wasted 200 points. We were talking about how powerful it would have been against enemy shooting though. Save the datasheet for armies that you know will be cutting through armor 14.
The baneblade with a commissar upgrade just got a MAJOR boost. I recommend getting out the black paint. Having heavy weapons teams surrounding one within 12" was awesome. Passing HWS orders 90% of the time? Yes please.
I haven't used any of the transports yet. I've had space marine allies for my last few games and we've made a deal. "You take theirs, I'll keep ours." But having seen stompas effortlessly escort a troop unit up to a no-man's land objective, and keep them safe from harm for hours and hours of game time, I'm betting you that all of them are worth it.
Also, with all of those superheavy transports, if you have a chance to pre your teammates on their list building you can have them put a couple dreadnoughts inside for assaulting out of, or a couple terminator units can save 500 points on land raiders and just borrow your ride.
Under new codex rules you could just put max special weapon squads into them all with flamers, every flamer would be able to shoot out on the move from a firepoint, if you can find a spot from the firing point where one flamer can cover 3-4 models, just multiply that by 10 and thats how many hits you've got.
To directly answer your question...
If i was taking foot based guard infantry with order support... my three would be
baneblade with commissariat crew
shadowsword
shadowsword
I'd probably take vital objective and take an imperial shield company datasheet. Screen your large platoons from flank march charges with special weapon squads with flamers or conscripts and just unload all game with lascannon HWS and shadowswords
If I was taking a flexible mechanized force with no order support.
shadowsword
transport shadowsword variant
transport shadowsword variant
You'll need to protect the shadowsword here so that you always have some strength D available, so I'd either take the domination force with russ variants or if I played steel legion I'd think about the iron saint. If you really wanted to kill something you could couple 3 vanquishers with lascannons with precision strike, that would rip up a hard target superheavy.

Funny, this is what I take for the core of my Epic:A IG force.
Better and cheaper than a Reaver (in Epic:A)
I wonder how they would showdown against one another in Wh40k- Apoc.

I have a Stormlord just for looks...
Other tank is a Baneblade which will mop up the grunts nicely...
Shadowsword punches holes in other superheavies...

@Shep: Thanks very much for the info, and I'm glad to hear that the stuff works. From what Sounds like the mix of Baneblade, Shadowsword, and Transport will do a fair job of covering most bases most of the time. I don't think I'm going to specialize with double Transport or double Shadowsword at this time.

@Kasrkin: Thanks for your comments, too!

I currently own a Baneblade and a Stormsword for use in apoc, and I am thinking of getting another SH tank. What do you guys think would be the best choice? I'm looking at a Shadowsword so far.

I think Shadowsword for Destroyer is good, especially if you already have Transport / mobility covered.
