Cheers for sticking with it! These auctions definitely look much better and they are selling (all but the first) although I'm sure they should be going for more!

I'd say you should still put in a paragraph with information about yourself as a painter (years of experience, awards, etc) and perhaps your reason for selling. People like to know

Even if you don't, if you just add "(br)" (with <> symbols instead of the parantheses) to the text where you want a line break, you can put breaks in your one large paragraph to make it several smaller ones so that it is easier to read, with line breaks in between the paragraphs.

Most importantly... I'd put in a few more key words in ("I've been painting warhammer 40k, warhammer fantasy, rackham miniatures for 8 years and have won..." ). You can copy and paste this part and keep it the same in all the auctions to make it easier!

That way, people not specifically searching for that one figure or game system, but just well painted miniatures in general, will find your work The more who find it, the more who might bid, and drive the prices up to where they deserve to be!

The auctions look really good, thanks for continuing to post your beautiful figures auction links here

thanks for the input, it's made a big difference...

i did put a bunch of new info in the bio section about awards and publications, but i guess people don't really check out the bios...
http://myworld.ebay.com/jah-joshua

i'll just cut and paste from the bio into sthe auctions...
should i put it under the pics...
might be a little cheeky, putting the awards over the pics...

thanks for showin' me how to do line breaks...
that will make next week's auctions look much better...

cheers

Well, I think cheeky is okay but if you want to put it under the pictures that would be fine, too. That way they'll read your credentials / history after seeing the beautiful pictures, and be more likely to know it's for real

Either way the key words will then be in your auction, and so you'll get more people searching for your items that way and they'll know what you can do!

I'm just going to copy and paste a little piece of your bio from that page here:

jah-joshua wrote:My name is Joshua Howdeshell. I am a full-time mini painter. I have worked for companies such as Privateer Press, Aberrant Games, and Crocodile Games. I have many published works, as well as painting competition wins(including a Golden Demon trophy).

That you've won a golden demon trophy (of any kind) and have been published in catalogs for Games Workshop (as you included later on) puts you in a whole different category in most gamers minds! And that you work/ed as a mini-painter full-time at places they've actually heard of does too!

I don't think you're getting a fair shake out of this so far, so hopefully including this will convey the quality of your work more!

Last thing... you can edit your auctions! It'd be worth putting those two paragraphs (the one with your credentials and history, and the one about the types of minis you paint for the key words) in all your current auctions. Most bids happen in the last 24 hours, which is where yours are at right now, and people searching basic key words will have these come up on top and might spring in to bid after seeing your credentials and the pics. Worth a try and nothing to lose from it, right?

I'd put those credentials in your auctions too. That lends credance to the quality of your figures. Getting your feedback score up a little will help give people more confidence in your auctions too. Best of luck.

i thought my minis would speak for themsleves, but i guess there is never too much pimpin' when you've got a quality product...

the packages from week 1 should be arrivin' next week, so my feedback will go up a bit...
i'm just chippin' away, week by week, until i get up to the same rates i charge for commission($150 to start)...

i'm workin' on HQ, character models, warjacks, and l.e.'s right now...
once i hit on the formula for what people want, i'll be off and runnin'...

thanks for all the input, and interest...

cheers
