Squibs Arcade is certainly one of the more unique upcoming WiiWare titles we have come across. It’s basically a parody of all the top rated titles for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, oh yeah and Assassins Creed too! The trick is all these modern games are stripped down to their core gameplay essentials and presented as a LCD game from yesteryear.

Our pals over at Alten8 assure us that the game will appeal to many different audiences including kids, causal players and hardcore fans who will ‘get’ all the in-jokes.

All these games will come in one bundle package for the bargain price of just 500 Nintendo points.

Sounds fun! AAA parodies on the Wii? I'm certainly buying it. Saying that, do many of you guys on Dakka download Wii games?
I heard Nintendo are gonna push the download service this year as a depressing majority of Wii owners aren't online.

I'm online with my Wii, but I don't play online. I despise the concept of playing with random people I can't talk to and don't even know where they come from. Smash Bros. would've been the ultimate online competion if they had some sort of leaderboards and challenge system.

Those LCD games sound like fun, but as much as it hurts me to say this, I don't have time for stuff like this. I wanna play real games. Or at least an arcade title where someone put some effort into it like BC: rearmed.

Interesting opinion! I like your concept of "real games", I think that's something that this game is trying to point out to you.

Phrases like "...where someone put some effort in" are really quite mean statements to make.
Making games is hard man. You can't do it my accident.

Midway made "real games" and "put effort in". Now look at them.
