Seems people on the PP forums and here are only looking at one side of the "Immune to Fire", "Immune to Corrosion" etc. rules - everyone is saying "Well, that will only be useful when fighting against an army from the same faction, and just makes "Fire" (eg) attacks less useful."

Funny, the first thing I thought of when i saw that was "Great! Now my Zealots can throw firebombs at units near my Castigator without worrying about hurting it! Oh, and if Eiryss is annoying me, I can just move my Castigator near her and fire the Vanquisher Flame Belcher at his DEF10 (-2) behind to punk her...wicked!" etc. etc.

Really, I see these as very useful for targeting "damage type" area effects on models from your own army that are immune, in order to catch annoyingly high-DEF enemy models in the blast...

What other nasty combos like this could be fun?

caveat: I have yet to read-through all the new rules and cards; so if I'm making some error about how these work, I apologize in advance!

I haven't fully read the rules yet but I understand that you can rust bomb a warjack with Gorman and happily have Bile thralls purge over the lot of them with impunity.

Yes, you can.

I'm probably going to be bouncing lightning off of my Storm Lances, since they won't be hurt, and it will then bounce to the nearest D6 enemies.

Yeah, I can see the use in that.

Does anyone know which models other than Gorman di Wolfe and Khador Assault Commandos are immune to Corrosion?

I did a quick skim through the cards and it seems only those two are immune to corrosion.

The immune to electricity is a must with cygnar when using storm units as the electro leap does damage to nearest model to the original target, so friendly fire cannot be eliminated.

Liann turned his head to look at the Loyalist lines. To his right, his fellow stormblades were advancing with their storm chambers running at low power, the glaives occasionally releasing blue sparks that played over the armour of his comrades. To his left, the stormguard were marching in an ordered open formation, and even through the cotton filter in his helmet Liann could smell the ozone as Sergeant Moresby charged his Nexus generator. Behind them, the sound of hooves just carried above the heavy tread of the 42nd's battle-tested Stormclad.

He was looking forward to this fight. He was not usually a man that took pleasure in killing, but the damn Rebels were the worst kind of traitors - backstabbing scum, declaring for that madman Vinter as he returned from the east - fighting for a man that had led an alien species against his own kingdom! The stormblade's jaws clenched at the thought. The mercenaries and trenchers the 42nd had overrun at Riverside Commons had deserved their deaths - fried in their armour by the mighty voltaic-fueled power of the company! He grinned as he remembered a foulmouthed curse-shouting Steelhead that had avoided his blows only to die screaming as Moresby discharged the power of his generator right into Liann's own armour, making him the eye of a small storm. It wasn't only the electrical energy that had made his hair stand on end.

An alarm from Lieutenant Bainsmoore made the stormblade snap back to matters at hand. Across a fallow cornfield shapes could be spotted in the morning mist, and all across the 42nd's lines weapons went up to full power - the blue lightning playing across armour and weapons intensified, the crackling energy eventually grounding into the earth. Just above him the sound of the Stormclad's steam engine became almost deafening and the smell of hot-burning coal joined that of ozone as fine particles of dust started raining down. The men went into ready stances and focused on the enemy. Yes, the enemy. Just ahead, coming into sight ...and surrounded by blue crackling energy?!

As the rebel storm knight company emerged from the mist the sound of groaning from both sides echoed across the valley. The whirr of storm chambers and crackle of nexus generators died down in seconds as the men flicked the "off" switches of their weapons. Even the Stormclad made a disappointed sound as it lowered its Generator Blade. Liann looked down at his expensive club and hoped that the enemy had been as lax in sharpening their glaives as he had.
