not sure where to ask this so move as you see fit. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of a full unit of both 1st (guitar ones) and 2nd (blaster ones) edidtion oop noise marines. Also, does anyone have pictures of the boxes they came in? I just want to know what they looked like as a whole unit/painted. Thanks

I thought they were the same model? They were painted like Poison or any of the other hair bands of the time.

but its pretty badly painted, thats why i wanted to see what the original paint layout for them was on the box

Also those are the 1st edition ones, but i was wondering what their original paint layout was for those guys too.

Surprisingly the old models do not look bad at all if you avoid a clown color scheme. I have liberally mixed 2nd ed with current plastics (and ditched the 2nd ed heads- dremel the neck to create a socket for the IMHO superior current heads), painted them in pre-Heresy purple and gold and they look really good.

you should totally post a pic of your squad. im trying to get ideas on how to do my unit. Iv got a 1st ed guy that i want to model a amp backpack on and a bunch of 2nd ed guys. not sure how i want to do the unit yet though, thats why i wanted pictures of the old editions paint scheme

To clarify - those are the first edition models, but the one in the middle has been converted to hold a second edition Sonic Blaster. Presumably they're using this as a blastmaster.

I WISH I had a unit of 5 of the first edition ones. I would make an entire Slaneesh army around them.

I have one of the old noise marines and one of the old Emperor's Children Models. Once my current plastic Emperor's Children are done soaking in simply green I am planning to embark on a green stuff adventure involing giving them all mohawks & cloven feet like the old Noise Marine model. I want to modify all the bolt pistols to look sonic based as well, however they will still use the normal boltgun, bolt pistol, twin-bolter profile. Still trying to figure out how to make sonic lascannons... Maybe they vibrate the air so much that they give off light, which means they technically wouldn't work in a vacuum.

But yes, the old noise marines are love.

These were so funny. Boltars for everyone. I think I've got about twenty in a box somewhere.

The Blastmaster add-on is the Chaos Terminator Assault Cannon from the same period. Lots of dremel work there.

The back packs are post 2nd edition(95ish).
