In the magic section on p.70, it says that unless otherwise stated, the target of the power must be within both range and arc of sight, and visible to the casting hero's company.

Has anyone found any spells that qualify as 'otherwise stated'? So far the only ones I've come up with that wouldn't seem to require arc of sight, are spells that buff the caster's own formation (like Terrifying Aura).

I'm a little iffy about Instill Valor; it says chose a friendly formation within 12". I can't decide if they mean any friendly formation within 12", or only a friendly formation within 12", arc of sight, and visible to the caster's company.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

It doesn't state otherwise; so they have to be in Arc of site as all that is specified is the range.
