I played it about halfway through, then I became bored with the countless repetitive missions. Also the AI was so stupid that most of the time my presence alone was enough to kill everything in a base, without having to do much more than stand in the center of the base and watch as every rocket wielding trooper within a quarter mile promptly blew himself, whatever important structure he was standing on or near, and half of Eastern Europe to pieces with a single well place rocket to the handrail between him and me. Then any survivors would run straight at me, falling off cliffs and out of watch towers in their desperate need to shoot me from spitting distance!
I also got pretty fed up with helicopters, if you tried to do anything other than use them for transport they were quickly shot down by anyone with an RPG (Which are everywhere!), and when you got shot out of one half the time you could just grappling hook another passing copter, or just bail out and hit the ground and wait for 10 seconds till your body miraculously put itself back together!
And watching the friendly AI try to capture a base was excruciatingly painful. I can't tell you the number of time I watched as the ENTIRE commando team sent to capture a base jumped out of their transport only to fall a whole 8 feet to their demise when their Helicopter got its tail stuck on the roof of the building they had been sent to capture.
That said, the game was massively amusing for the most part and the relative stupidity of the AI in all cases made for many moments when I simply could not stop laughing. I still joke with my roommate about "It's the mercenary, Ill get him!" (what every character in the game says in really badly accented English right before they either suicide themselves off a cliff or commit accidental acts of Fratricide that would make Stalin proud)
I would recommend not playing it a whole lot at a time, otherwise its charm will most likely wear off, as it did for me!
