Greetings,
Hmmm, I'm member since some time now, and haven't posted any pictures of my guard.
I have been working on my army since years now, due to an horribly constrained schedule at first, then periods of demotivation.
Imperial Guard is back on 2009, I have to go on.
I will show a large selection of my work, in chronological order until those I've finished recently.
My preferred
IG minis are Valhallans. I've dreamed of such an
IG army since the legendary 2nd edition herohammer
40k time.
Eventually I began
40k when 4th edition hit the stores. Get lucky to grab the last remaining blisters of valhallan stuff in several stores in France (
GW & indep').
At this time they had became nearly
OOP. Fortunately ebay was there to complete my lines.
back in 2005
So first
IG minis I have painted:
Base coat slightly clearer than on the final result, to let room for a layer of stabilized citadel dark inks. Then drybrush and rough highlights.
I took more care on faces.
2006/2007
Realising that I will not achieve any improvements with drybrushing (which I never handled really well), I tried glacis technique. Beginnings were desperately hard, and it took ridiculously long time to finish a handful of 4-5 minis. But I improved and actually like this technique. It revealed useful for gradations on tissues and faces.
Vallejo color, dark citadel inks, multiple layers of glacis with Vallejo (corrections in shadows, then steps of highlighting). Still some drybrush in a few areas (czapka, ground, metal). Guns with Humbrol "metalcote".
Oh it is late !!
To be continued...
