Dark Reapers are great at taking out heavy infantry, but for a small squad, say compared to a War Walker squad (probably with missile launchers) who can multi-role. Isn't one better than the other because of the variability? Similarly, a war walker is tougher to take down than a reaper is and the walker can move better. I don't see much point in ever putting a reaper inside a transport either.

Thoughts/curses/muggings?

Just as important as variable armament is mobility, IMO. Walkers have it (in spades when outflanking) and Reapers don't. I just don't see Reapers being nearly as useful as Walkers unless you know for certain that you are fighting shooty infantry MEQ. In all-comers or versus anything non-MEQ or even slightly mobile, the Walkers win out bigtime.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I am thinking a WW squad with all missile launchers could rival any DR squad for infantry kill-age, while still matching their range, and also being able to handle an anti-vehicle (even heavy?) role. I imagine throwing some pinning checks on your opponents lines and CC units early on isn't bad either (mostly thinking because i am trying to move to a more mechanized eldar force).

I guess the next question is if I would want EMLs, or Scatter Laser/Bright Lance. The poor star-cannon is not worth it to me personally compared to the scatter with the large point cost.

I find Scatterlaser WWs to be simply amazing for their points. Alos, I sometimes run SC armed WWs in my list, when I want to force my opponent into targeting them, while leaving other targets alone...and they are a steal at 120 points for 3

War Walkers are bigger and stompier, so those puppies would surely win.

I am thinking to go either Scatter/BL or two EMLs. The difference is only 5 points more for the SL/BL, though the EML does have a bit more range and pinning/template. However with scouts and decent mobility, and walker firing, the foot less range doesn't seem like it will set me back at all (with friends we play small points games on a larger than average board).

Is anyone using configurations like this, perhaps they can spare some wisdom?

Never mix weapons on WWs. They all need the same weaponry to be effective.

It all come down to what you need. I dont pick, i use a squad of Each
The Reapers are great Back line MEQ Killers and the Walkers a great for outflanking shoot up where you need them. They are only BS3 but for their costs they are deff worth it about 90% of the time. As for the 3rd HS Slot its up to you.

Somewhere in the unknown universe.

The Reapers are a noob unit for killing MEQs. After you realize that the most obviously powerful gun is NOT the best gun, you take the War Walkers much more frequently.

The best use of War Walkers is a squadron of 3 Scatter Laser Walkers positioned behind a squad of Guardians with a Guideseer attached.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.
