Hello! I just bought a Menoth army and I have been painting furiously! Unfortunately, I just moved away from an area where WM and Hordes was quite popular into Bristol, VA - where people only play 40K and Magic...and nothing else! Anyways, I am very excited about the game and wanted to share my work so far on my army with you all and maybe get some tips...and if any of you live near Bristol...LET'S PLAY!
My army so far

Oh and if any Menoth players can give me tips on what is good and what sucks in Menoth right now I would really appreciate it. I'm kind of just choosing things at random to build my army out of at the moment...

while i don't know of any places in bristol, there is a place called, i believe, dwaynes world over in kingsport. last i was there they carried most of the pp stuff, and they had a room with some tables, there were 4 or 5 people playing warmachine and hordes when i looked around. In Johnson City, there is a gaming society at the ETSU campus that meets on wednesdays, i believe, and a couple players sometimes are at it. The Hobbytown in johnson city has a building they let people game in at least one or two days a week. They might be a games workshop crowd, but you might meet some players there. There is also a place called orctek in Johnson City, that has a gaming place in the back, they run small magic tournaments, but they might be able to get you in touch with people who play. edit-oh, and for units. I'd say maybe wracks, zealots, and perhaps a few casters next. I don't play menoth, but a buddy of mine does, and those were some things he got to help fill out his army

Might I suggest, for scrollwork, instead of painting it on freehand getting an artists' pencil? It really saves time on those choirboys.

Wow! Lynn, thank you so much for that info! I have been told that DeWayne's World in Kingsport is the place to go for WM in this area, but the one time I drove down there (it's like an hour away from where I live) they were closed at 6:00 pm!! Terrible hours...I will definitely check out your other suggestions, though. I will definitely paint up some wracks and zealots soon, thanks for the tip.
Kaptajn, I will look into getting one. I think I have read elsewhere that they can be used for black lining also, so I could certainly make good use out of one. Thanks for the tip.
Question: I keep seeing threads about something like a rule change or balance changes in WM? How will I know if the units I have changed? Is there info available online somewhere?

no problem man, i know it can be tricky to find games in the area, warhammer definently has a presense. Thing i just remembered. At the ETSU campus, in the art building, there is a metalworking Shop in the basement. Dude majoring in that plays, and last i spoke with him had something like 2000 points of each army. Can't recall his name, but he's mid-30's, has some gnarly ass teeth, and most of the work he makes are robots. So if your around, and can find the robot guy, you might be in luck. I believe he's part of one of the larger groups of wm hordes players in the area, from his talk

Artist's pencil? How much do those run, what kind of thing is it, like a brush-pen? Does the color stay very well, just like paint?
