I would like some feedback from more experienced players about how they think this would work, because I'm sceptical:

Destroyer Lord, Res orb, phylactery, warscythe, 205

Warriors, 10, disruption fields, 200
Warriors, 10, disruption fields, 200

Destroyers, 3, 150
Destroyers, 3, 150

Heavy Destroyers, 2, 130

Monoliths, 2, 470

Total, 1505

1 Monolith deepstrikes with both Warrior squads (to put a stop to range problem), Destroyers take out light tanks and infantry, Heavies take out tanks and any strong infantry or monstrous creatures. Destroyer Lord assualts shooty units.

Do you know which races you are playing against?

For a take all comers list, not bad, but personally, I see no point for the disruption fields, lose them, and get more warriors... or one more heavy Destroyer... you may want to consider losing one squad of regular destroyers and getting some immortals, they are really kick-ass!

Armies I play:
-5000 pts
-2500 pts
Mechanicus -1850 pts

Split the Heavy destroyers into two squads. Somthing mundane as a h.bolter wont be able to take out the squad. It multiplies the already high amount of firepower needed to take down relatively cheap models. But ofcourse if you dont take them out, you will loose tanks.

The Lord joins the destroyers (as he cant join normal infantry with a destroyer body, right?) but then you wont be able to use the rez orb with your standard necrons & without a lord (with gaze of flames & the orb) in a squad to deter CC threats, they will fall fairly easily (conversely, compared to the point-cost unit required to be able to take them down).

What does the warsythe doo.. no armor saves/Invunerable saves? With the destroyers, I guess hes a good IC hunter but still you need to remove those 2-3 wounds per IC & generally the squad he's with will probably finish you off afterwards.

The lord is a very good force multipler but I reckon hes not doing his best in that reguard at the mo.

Too be fair.. it's all worked out quite well!

The destroyer lord can go with infantry but then it can only move 6 inches which defeats the point of a destroyer body. I do have a normal lord but I find the extra 1 toughness helps against troops. I'll split the Heavies up. And I mainly play against Eldar and Space Marines.

If thats the case (if the d.lord can go with normal infantry) then cool.

The warsythe is a bit useless as dedicated assault units will come to you but rarely will they include a HQ worthy of that single warsythe - Swap that upgrade for gaze of flames. So amazingly useful but under-rated.

i've been reading that immortals are awesome lately. I was under the impression they were near useless in past editions.

what changed that made them viable? what do they do and in what situations require their use?

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

Thier much more shooty & can lay down a withering amount of firepower out to 24" (30" effective) & are quite tough. Not scoring & 10pts more than a standard necron.

Destroyers cost just under double that cost (so nearrly 3x a necron) but can fire slighly stronger weapons further & are tougher still. Effective range of about 48"?

I prefer Pariahs and am starting to get them and may put them in this army. What would you think of that. My only problem is they're 36pts each. They're supposed to be the best escort for a Lord.

Without WWB Pariahs are effectivley the perfect target.

A smart opponet will shoot them first, as they will die much quicker than most anything else in your list, and are probably your most expensive unit.

Putting them around your lord is worthless as your lord should always have a resurection orb, so he should be surrounded by units that benifit from the WWB rule.

Just my 0.2 cents

Own and play

+/- 4,500 Necrons (82% painted)

I could screen them by a Monolith so nothing can see them until they can get into CC. T5 helps.

Your phase out in extremely low. On top of that, in order to use warriors for reserve, at least 2 units of warriors must already be on the field. You need more troops, or you will get phased out.
